Bit pointless voting for one when the thread's main question is asking for the top 10.
I still think you should only vote for one. The actual top 10 is obtained by the number of votes the driver obtains, the most votes gets No 1 spot, and so on down til No 10.

Define Non-Professional

I agree V8smoker, but if you look through the list I am sure there are others who you could interpret as being paid. For eg, what about those who work in a family business and have time off work to go and race and don't get docked a days pay. Technically, aren't they being paid while they're racing? - even if not specifically for the task of racing - make sense? I think Tony Riccadello, David Russell, James Small, Marcus Zukanovic fall into this category. I know my point seems somewhat pedantic, but given there are probably PLENTY of drivers who do take time off work (unpaid) to race and race well, I think they are the ones who should be on the list.

And surely Jack and Shane are on the pay roll at JDR, and didn't Reynolds sign a contract with HSVDT recently?

I think we need clarification on what we deem to be non-professional...

I think the definition still needs refining.

I don't know if Price paid or was being paid, but it's commonly accepted he is in the main game next year and surely he will be paid for that? He shouldn't be in the list if thats the case.

Well what can I say.....

I'm in London at the moment on a bit of a holiday and was trying to catch up with the motor sport news in Australia, only to find that I got a nomination for this poll!

Thank you to whoever nominated me, it certainly gave me a big smile.

Cam van den Dungen

Ps. Being involved in the set-up of the CAMS Rising Star and the Australian Motor Sport Foundation I can personally state that Paul Laskazeski is one of the most naturally talented drivers this country has produced. Watch out for him in the UK in 2007!!!

TBA could be Ty Hanger who has done a great job in the F4000.

I think David Reynolds will definitely migrate from the non professional list to professional list in very short time.

Reynolds already has, HYL 2007 signee.

Hangar... I'm a fan certainly, I've loved his Speed on Tweed heroics since the beginning, but he wasn't a front runner in his Formula Ford days and now he has twice lost the Formula 4000 series to, firstly a guy who did not do all the rounds, and this year to a racing returnee who was upper mid-field in his prime in F2.

Losing to Hackett is one thing, but he should have been a class above the field this year and he wasn't.

He's good, yes, but this is about finding the best. I don't think he compares sufficiently well to be a genuine contender.
