Gibernau lost the plot at the end of 2004 sadly. He then made fleeting resurgences, but never got close to winning (bar Jerez 2005).

The "Qatar curse".

Biaggi is a joke, don't even go there. By the time he has finished *****ing and moaning, Rossi has beaten him again.

Gerben24 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

That's just a rubbish comment Knowlesy. In 250cc he was mighty. In his time there was real competition as well. He did a 'Rossi' by switching bike manufactur and become world champion the following year.

He won his first 500cc race on a semi-works machine.

He made Yamaha competive again when he switched to them. Before Gibernau he was the only one who could take the fight to Rossi. When he left Yamaha they didn't win until Rossi took the challenge.

He won his first WSBK race and Kagayama can't keep up with him.

He is a weird fella, I give you that, but so is Montoya

Problem with Max always has been and always will be that he cant adapt to the bike like Valentino can.

He suffered with this on teh Kanemoto Honda in 93, remember he was the coming man then and was dropped straight away as he couldnt ride the bike like Luca could.

He will not push it if it isnt right and that means he will be on it some days and off it for the rest, jyst like Luca, Kocinski, Pedrosa etc. If you cant ride front and rear you ain gonna win championships on big powerful bikes, just ask Vale, Mick, Wayne etc etc

A quick and maybe stupid question from a guest in your forum, who knows very little about motorcycle racing....but enjoys it when I do get to watch it.
What IS Nickle and Dime?....and in having to even ask the question, what's the commercial point of their sponsorship?

I think Nickel & Dime are clothing wholesalers. Doesn't really matter to me who is sponsoring if this means Donington Park can stage a Motogp round...

Well I'm a yank and even more confused. It makes for a funny thread title though.

Oh yeah, he was excellent on a 250cc (one of the very best) and made a few waves on a 500. But after 2001, after his title challenge ended amidst several races where he lost the front trying to keep up with/defend from Rossi he has done little. The MotoGP era he floundered around, whingeing about not having a works Honda. He then got one and did even worse than before!

And yes, he did win his first WSBK race. But he hasn't built on it really as I expected him to.

It may be that the 800's would suit Max. But pre-season, it was widely thought the 800's would be just the ticket for Loris Capirossi.

Don't get me wrong, Biaggi was capable of some great things once in a while. But the way his 500 career started, you expected a year or two of dominance at least. As it was, a superior generation of riders eclipsed him.

As for Montoya, err, does he ride bikes (apart from when he plays tennis)?
