News from Auto-Moto (french brodcast on the TF1 channel) : a great report on the "Loeb's adventure", and... they stated this morning that 30 000 tickets were sold by ACO after Sébastien Loeb's qualification... (and F1 went far behind the Le Mans report )

They underlined the Loeb/Montagny possible battle, and at last a possible french victory...

Le Mans back in the heart of the french attendance ? Le Mans need it... it was said lately that the attendance was dangerously melting...

Thats good to hear.

And with a possible French manufactuer coming on board, and even better times on the horizon for Courage and Pesca, its looking good for increased French interest in the race.

Maybe the can try to put Loeb in a F1 car at the race at Magny-Cours....

It's good to see the French public and media are getting more interest.

We can say that everything has been done this year to attract more French spectators. I think there are less German spectaotrs since Porsche has left the leader ship in prototypes categories. And I remember there were more Japanese at the Nissan/mazda periods.
But many French are regulars and get to Le Mans each year.

And thats one of the reasons for the Le Mans classic visiting Japan.

The Japanease are crazy for their sportscars, as seen with the JGTC.

Hopefully some good news on the Japanease manufactuer front soon

The ACO do seem to be getting thier act together promoting Le Mans and sportscar racing in general (LMES etc.)

Could be me having yet to discover some hard-to-find parts of these forums, but there are rarely any people posting from the Japanese regions, with barely any news about JGTC/Super GT ever emerging - this just an unfortunate coincidence (particularly with the forum being in English mainly), or something to do with the JGTC rules being so different to the rest of the world's major sportscar racing scene?

I do sometimes wonder how the likes of Japanese efforts can get to Le Mans without being enforced to spend vast amounts of valuable money relocating and racing in Europe or the ALMS. The bills must be enormous, so it doesn't surprise me too much that the Japanese may be lacking in numbers from time to time.

AAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGG

It's almost like the night before christmas when I was a little boy, leaving for my first LM tomorrow afternoon.

But a part of the DfH crew is already on it's way to LM

Japanease efforts tend to be run by European based teams such as TTE, TOMS Europe, TWR etc.

Weather forecasts : still unusual heat expected for the race (could reach 36°C).

Showers expected on thursday, but dry evening for the qualifications...

29° or 30°, more likely, according to the latest local weather forecast, fortunately.

They're leaving it pretty late. At this stage, they really need an experienced hand. Marc Goossens?

Pilgrimage should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Well despite much build-up and change I am going to make it this year.
Still not sure whether i'm goign to be driving my own car down but never mind.
Heading down on Friday to return on Sunday. Camping in Beau Sejour - first time for this. Planning also to watch the start from Arnage (first time not been on the start straight/ series of corners).
Can't wait now.
Missed pretty much all the build up due to work, but catching up slowly... might be up to speed by next Monday!!!!....
Enjoy the weekend guys. Will try to find out when the TT meets are (?) and will make a real effort to get there thsi year. Be good to meet you guys.
