...and probably the DOME has more potential than their current Lola |

Their Lola cars works perfectly right now, and i see no reason to throw them away. Besides the Toyota engines would need adapting to the Dome chassis, and we do not know if the Engine's are Rebellions own, or leased by Toyota. |

P2 might be a good idea for them in the engine department, the Judd is not going to cut it in P1 anymore + they would be able to produce and sell/lease P2 cars in numbers that would mean a return on their investment.

Would be good to see a Dome P2 pop up in the AsLMS.

I don't understand this Dome LMP2 story.
Nobody raced the Dome S102 between 2008 and 2012 because it was too expensive for LMP1 privateers. Now suddenly Dome can make a version of the car that meets the LMP2 cost cap? |

Wasn't it that Dome was too demanding to who raced it, and what they invested into it? But if the 2014 LMP2 is based on the S102 aero research, you could argue that most of the expensive R&D is done, and they therefor can make it cheaper. |

Before the S102.5 project was announced, there was an article in RCE called "Unfulfilled promise" about the S102.
Quote:
The S102 was not designed for privateers. For instance, it has a carbon fibre bellhousing and very complex, difficult to debug electronics. |

The HPD isn't cheap either. You see 3 (2 wec 1 ALMS) teams running it though. Dagys has said it's 'not cheap' but didn't disclose the exact price. I can imagine it's a bit more than running a Lola. I wonder what it's price is like compared to the DOME.

The December 2012 edition of RCE has an interview with John Judd: http://gb.zinio.com/reader.jsp?issue...&prev=sub&p=25
Judd explains the problems of the Judd V8 in the Dome S102.5. Quote:

I also read the full article and my honest conclusion is "you reap what you sow"......in my experience of race and road powertrain engineering, the best engines are the ones where both chassis engine and gearbox teams work in harmony. from what i can see on multiple projects is judd are just delivering engines with little respect to all the fine integration detail. they have lost over 3/4 their lmp customers this really does say something.

Minoru Hayashi launches his personal website.
You can check out his old project books about Japanese motorsports. (mother chassis plan for SGT, Formula 4, Oriental GT project etc) Although these are written in Japanese, you can understand an outline with an illustration. http://hayashiminoru.com/minoru-hayashi/plan-proposal/ |

Really? That's a shame.
Japanese language is one of the most difficult language in the world. The language barrier weakens Japanese companies. |

Samurai-san, I am an English conversation school teacher. Most of my students are salarymen or college students, and all of them say that English proficiency is a must for new employees, or at least a promotion.
Hayashi-san of Dome possesses a decent degree of English proficiency (his articles in Racecar Engineering are OK), but I don't know much about the engineering staff. But being a Japanese based company it would be safe to say that at least 90-100% of the conversations there are in Japanese. There's also a cultural change a foreign worker faces when entering Japan. I think you know what I am talking about. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. A gaijin has to adjust to Dome, not Dome adjust to the gaijin. |

Looks interesting that their model is focusing on the rear fender and the holes.

The Toyota 'fin' goes to the top of the rear wing endplate, the blurred photos look like it's an extension of the wheel arch that doesn't dip down following the wheel well's shape.
