Dreaming but...... maybe Dome are developing a car for a manufacturer and the publicity about developing a customer car is just obfuscation.

BUT! - a good one, so could be a good toe-in-the-water car for a manufacture. |

Great news from Dome and hopefully the spur others such as OAK/Wirth/Multimatic need to push on with '14 concepts in this times of doubt.
A couple of those each next year plus the manufacturers and we have a party again! |

I'm sure the Dome P1 car will be an in-house effort. As for the Dome P2, I hear Mazda needs a new partner after Dempsey's left...

Mazda could theoretically plug in an engine but I think fundamentally the cars will be very similar in design and both be built in-house.

Autosport web reports interview to Hiroshi Fushida. (link is dead)
We are going to sell S103 (LMP1 & 2) to customers. Additionally, works participation as Dome (LMP1) is also considered. But it depends on sponsors. |

Dome sold off Dome carbon magic and Dome composite Thailand to Toray Industries.
The reason is for generating new road going sportscar fund! Minoru Hayashi is very very very crazy! http://www.dome.co.jp/news/news/dt_122.html Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 18 Mar 2013 at 04:20. |

Wow, did not see that coming!
I'm starting to get afraid of this spending from Dome's side. Do they have the proper financing to do this? |

Which is only 16,231,331.895 euros. Can't develop a car with only 16 million euros.
Edit: I used the american equivalent of '2 billion' = 2*10^9 The european equivalent of '2 billion' = 2*10^12 In that case he has 16.000 million euros and with that a lot is possible of course! A lot of confusion arises with the use and mistranslation of different number scales: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_and_short_scales |

Yes, it's 2,000,000,000 yen.
He manufactures only "three" cars. This is his "hobby." http://www.dome.co.jp/pdf/20130318_isaku.pdf |

No.
But this is mainly the news release of ISAKU (road going sportscar) project. About LMP1/2 plan, only two sentence has made the reference. *LMP1/2 are developed with a part of fund which sold the subsidiary (Dome carbon magic). *We will announcce the detail of LMP project around June 1. |

Good. I hope the Dome will be just as giantslaying as its predecessors were. Just a little more reliable please. Have been a fan of them since Jan Lammers started to drive them. (have no memories of earlier Domes, sadly) But that may be because I'm a little biased. But I don't care.

The 102.5 was the best looking car at LM last year as far as I was concerned. Hopefully with a bit more time and input they can take that as a starting point and build something that really gets the attention. |
