The pit entry can be considered a braking zone. So they can probably use 500 kJ electric power in the pitlane.
However, if the hybrid system is connected to the front wheels, they must comply with the rule that states "the release of energy is permitted only above 120 km/h." Strangely there is also the mandatory pitlane test: Quote:

According to a Portuguese site (Autosport= http://autosport.aeiou.pt/gen.pl?p=s...stories/102884), they are telling that:
"The time has come to evolve, and early in the morning Wurz ran in 1minute and47 seconds, a few minutes back he did in 1minute 45 seconds. Remember that Neel Jani posted a lap of 1m 46.783s on lap that secured the pole position for the 6 Hours of Le Castellet" That looks promising, "2nd run" and already faster than Best petrol last year. |

As for the question about the BHH, it seems that the whole top of the front fenders are covered by a detatchable panel. The issue will be the rear wheels.
This is a rule, though, that's been known about for a while, so it makes one wonder if Audi or Toyota have plead a case to the ACO about extending that BoP penalty for teams that don't run the BHH past Sebring, though I doubt that. But it is strange that neither Audi or Toyota have run that bodywork yet. Am I to guess that they're working on something to either cancel out any disadvantages or to get the holes to work to their advantage even? And what am I hearing when the TS030 comes off that final corner before the main straight--the hybrid system kicking in (RWD mode, otherwise unlikely given the ACO's rules on that if it's front wheels) or is the TS030 not running traction control right now? It really revs up and sounds like it's really spinning the rear wheels under acceleration off that corner. |

http://www.endurance-info.com/versio...o.php?page=927 has some pictures of today's test session.
On the first pictures the nose is removed and it is possible to see a bit of the front suspension: It looks conventional with the torsion bars. I am unable to spot drive shafts going to the front wheels. |

Man, I was about to post that
It sounds like the TS030 might be having some traction control issues. I don't know if it's an teething issue, but from the onboard it sounds good The TS030 actually sounds decent for having a flatcrank V8--it actually sounds like an old '80's/early 90's F1 car. |

As for the "traction control issues", doesn't that look more like aggressive KERS boost more than anything? |

Okay, that would ruin the fun of waiting for a lucky photographer being able to snap some pictures of the engine and suspension. Yes, that is hardly worth calling an "issue". This can be solved with some more development (more progressive release of electric energy) or driver familiarization (apply the throttle less hard). |

But in terms of building up a fanbase I think it is working. I'm going to certainly be supporting them and might even join the TTTT (TenTenths Toyota Team) Looks like the may even have a member on the forum. Two words: pit visit! |

HavenĀ“t studied the pictures or the background articles yet but is there any signaling device (visible), preferably a light or lights, indicating that the hybrid system is active?

110% rooting for Toyota. The car's beautiful and it sounds good too - and it's loud!
I can't wait for the pit walk. One of my memories of my first ever Le Mans was doing the pit walk as an excited toddler and seeing the Toyota GT-ONE so close. This year will feel similar. Hope my girlfriend isn't reading, that must look pretty sad! |
