I love how Americans just see it as some sort of joker that is supposed to add excitement to the race.

I guess that's why it's called a safety car in Europe...the only reason it's there is safety, not spicing up the race.

Finally The AF Corse 51 Ferrari gets 1 lap back. and its managed to be on the same lap as the 97 Aston...Once they can start smelling blood the pace might heat up.

Yeah, Pruett said earlier that GA does everything they can for the competitors to get back on the lead lap... sheesh.

I like the non-GA safety car procedures. Make cars earn that lap back either through pace or strategy/fuel economy. If this were the Rolex 24 the entire prototype field would be on the lead lap! This race is still just as exciting w/o all the dumb free passes.

That's what I hate about GA. You never get long-term strategy or fuel mileage races because everything is bunched together all the time.

I think it takes away a lot of the excitement that endurance racing offers.

The GTE Pro battle wasn't exactly helped by the second safety car creating an artificial 3-minute gap between the first three cars and the rest though...

I agree halfway. I like the lack of just letting people wave around but I can't stand how 3 quick safety cars can leave 3 on back in GTE 2 laps down from the Astons and Porsches. If they could find a way to separate out the classes or something I really don't know. Just needs to be better than what it is at know. GTE would have been so much more if the Corvette's and Ferrari's hadnt got shafted by safety cars.

I know they screwed that up, but that's a relatively easy fix compared to giving everyone wave-bys.
