On the unveiling front, Racer.com has a piece about Cadillac potentially being at the Daytona test next week.
http://www.racer.com/imsa/item/13626...sting-ramps-up Also mentioned the DPi motor will sound different from the DP because the exhaust has been rerouted. |

Well when it comes to GT racing. Its no contest IMSA is far superior. GTLM and GTD will both be awesome this year. Its a shame the whole DPI might over shadow it some. But its 24 hours so there is plenty of time to watch all 3 races. Especially with the spectator and camera friendly layout of Daytona.

They have ALWAYS said it was the same engine as the DP Vette. The newest Caddy TT V6 from the CTS is the economy engine not the CTS-V engine so using it in racing would be outside its sales image.

Guess cadillac DP will stick with 5.5L because there won't be any big consumes or reliability issues even pushed up to 600hp.
Don't know how mazda will handle that, last year they were proud of their 285hp power per liter ratio. Need to find somehow 30hp. |

they are using a variation of the old lmp1 engine dyson used. quite sure they can get 30hp extra out of it.

Actually the 2011-2013 lolaB12/60 dyson engine was the same used in 2008-2010 lola dyson lmp2, just with larger restrictors and more boost to achieve about 550hp.
No doubt that 600hp can be released, but what about reliability? |

The word is the Gibson is over 600hp.So a P2 with a Gibson is going to be fast.
Some people will be mad if it is faster than their DPi! |

Development accelerating for Nissan DPi
With rivals Cadillac and Mazda well into their respective testing programs, Nissan is pushing hard to begin its on-track development before the end of the year. Overall things are going really well," NISMO boss Michael Carcamo told Carcamo also confirmed Nissan and Onroak have taken another swing at incorporating more brand identity in its custom DPi bodywork. "In order for us to move quickly on this with a later start than the others, we worked with Onroak much more on the cooling and packaging side, so IMSA came back and asked us to do more work, and while I don't have anything confirmed, I expect we're close to getting approval from IMSA," he said. http://www.racer.com/imsa/item/13640...for-nissan-dpi |

lol
You've clearly just put a Nissan sticker on the nose. Yes. You'll need at least 3 stickers before this will pass. 2 if they say Altima or Sentra. |

You liked it at COTA. You said you would ride it all the way home to taco town. I was there. True story. |
