GRM livery looks excellent, but good god what have they done to Frostys car. Finally got the Number 1 and they go and make the car its on look hideous.

Preston Hire Racing has the assistance of Triple Eight’s Grant McPherson at Winton today, as Lee Holdsworth and his crew test the #18 Holden Commodore for the first time.
As part of the team’s customer arrangement with Triple Eight, McPherson joins Holdsworth and head engineer Jason Bush on-track as Holdsworth gets a feel for his new race car.

with 888 support could be in the top 6 holdens

AS Holdsworth said yesterday, it is only a new car to him, but was actually the first COTF built by 888. So doesn't have the latest front end

The Charlie Schwerkolt Racing VF never actually raced in Red Bull colours, being 888's first VF built in 2012 that's only race start was at Bathurst in 2013 as the Xbox car.http://autoaction.com.au/holdsworth-confident-team18/

So if it wasn't for Dragon/Mr Russell, Erebus would have been a single car (Holden) this year... would have made utilising the Melbourne GT shed much easier

And a REC that would likely to have been returned to V8SC, torching another lazy $1.5m....

Interesting that the two LDM cars will be in SP tools colours for Clipsal.

Well done for them

What a downslide . From a three car operation with a workshop the envy of plenty and a plethora of very good staff to a customer car deal where they basically only run one car with a handful of experience supplemented by youngsters. I find it quite sad tbh.

If there's one good thing about this is that those youngsters are getting a crack in the main game so that's a positive I guess.

With a similar scenario now in GT also, running customer cars it seems

Betty says running the WP cars will cost 1/8th of the Mercs

Well 4/8ths are saved thanks to Dragon/Russells

That leaves 3/8ths...which would appear to be less staff and that they will not carry spares (using WP again).

So she is still in the main game...kinda

The LDM press releases are a little ambiguous. It mentions words like "for Clipsal" but is missing words like "round only" or "one off".

Am I to take it that SP Tools will be on both cars for the whole year? Or should we just take "for Clipsal" as to mean one round only (filling in the blanks ourselves)... ?

Its a hard one to pin down to be honest. I am a personal sponsor to Andre and have left a message with him to let me know. Will post when I find out. Could be a few days though as he's got a lot on his plate at the mo.

Would be great if it is a full season thing, because HRT similarities aside for one minute (and I don't think they look like HRT cars at all - they don't have bright red wheels for a start, and there is some different colours underneath the orange), it would be great for LDM to snatch such a huge and well known brand for two, young hard chargers.

I am biased of course, but I think LDM will be knocking on the door of the likes of BJR and Erebus this season. Percat on the podium once or twice is a high possibility, and knowing the effort Heimgartner and his family have put into this, don't be surprised if he snatches a podium at some point (Tassie could be the one?).

I am now an LDM fan. Last year I was a Super Brown fan. I personally hope he flames the triple one car after the way Lentino went against his racing contract....

Remember it's an old chassis (from memory the first COTF 888 built), and doesn't have the latest go-fast bits.

Can confirm (sadly) that SP tools are on there for Clippy and possibly the GP.

Buggar really as they look grouse.
