From that point of view I'm really curious about how Lechner Jr. and Margaritis will perform when together on 1 car. They both have the talent and they also seem to have the ability to keep the car together. Might be a contender for next year?

To be honest Im not really suprised that we may see maybe 5 Maseratis in privateer hands next year, there was never any cast iron guarntees that anyone is going to buy one of the cars, only that a few teams are interested. Costs are being kept down at the moment, as Maserati has said the cars will cost no more than a Ferrari 550/575, particulary to run.

At the moment, 575s cost about 750.000 Eur and MC12s start at 950.000....but they're much more expensive to manage.

It's less likely that Zwaans will run a Murcielago next year, the bad experiences from other teams have scared them off quite a bit so they're looking for other oppertunities at the moment.

Bad news for FIA GT. This was a team that can do great things. Sorry to see them go.

No prodrive Astons will run in the FIA series next year, as I understand it 05 will be only Sebring (ALMS) then Le Mans, maybe a few after that but no customer cars till 06. is this another team developing one?

Still unclear, but it's a option. Might be able to tell you a bit more in a couple of weeks.

I heard so, but I also heard about Makthoem (or however his name is spelled) was pushing very very hard, waving around with big bucks. So who knows...

HH Sheikh Hasher Maktoum al-Maktoum, I believe. There was a suggestion in Autosport a couple of weeks ago that "Team Dubai" (Maktoum, David Terrien and Marco Saviozzi figuring largely) would bag a couple of DBR-9s and enter 'selected' FIA GT rounds in 2005 before a full season in 2006.

Will the DBR-9 be homologated for FIA and ACO at the same time?

Bramzel, where did you hear about Zwanns going to a Saleen? is it confirmed?

and also, what about the 2 konrad saleens. i am almost sure it will be 2 Konrad's + Vitaphone (if they dont go with Maseratis)

Will Konrad use separate cars to contest the FIA series and ADAC Procar?

good question.. i would think that he doesnt have to. both series use the identical regulations, and there are no date clashes.

i know for a fact he has 4 cars. Autosport says 5

i know he owns:

002R, 003R , 004R and 014R.

5th one is a mystery to me..

Perhaps Autosport includes the Vitaphone chassis as well? Then it would make sense (Vitaphone/Konrad/StarMoto/2xRML)

I didn't hear about Zwaans (stop calling them Zwanns ) going to Saleens, I've only heard about Zwaans not going to Lamborghini's anymore. So the most likely car for them now would be the Saleen I'd say. Or they'd have to find the funding for a 550 this year and the DBR9 in 2006, as I know that Arjan van der Zwaan is completely in love with the DB9. On the other hand, they're not poor either, they might not have the funding that BMS or Vitaphone have for example, but they've got their euros as well. So we'll see, nothing by far is sure yet.

About the Saleens: I doubt that he'll run 2 Konrads. Don't know why, but it just seems unlikely to me as long as Vitaphone keeps running the Saleen. I think he will run one car with Margaritis and Lechner. If Vitaphone does make the transfer to the Maserati, wich I highly doubt, then perhaps Konrad would enter another one. Again, nothing is sure, this is just (educated) guessing.

One thing though: At DSC there's news about the new American team that will run 2 Pratt & Miller C5R's in ALMS. Does this have any consequenses for Hezemans? As far as I've heard Hezemans had bought a chassis already, or were there only 2 cars available and does this mean they're sold now?

Crash.net today reports that the FIA GT series is likely to visit Australia at some point next year as a teaser, a bit like the Bahrian GT event, and having a full blown FIA GT event for 2006. http://www.crash.net/uk/en/news_view...d=8&nid=103519 Lets just hope it happens, then we really will have a real FIA sanctioned world championship.

chassis 002R was the Vitaphone chassis. and the Star Moto Chassis i think is 014R (the one that ran as the yellow corona car in this years fia gt).. maybe they always had a spare car, and never ran it all these years.

if the vitaphone deal happens, i can maybe see Lechner and Margaritis going to the 2nd Vitaphone car. and then Konrad just entering one more. Remember, Franz was in talked with Andres Zuber (Euroseries F3 driver) about a ride in his 2nd car for 2005...

List revisited:

2x GPC Ferrari 575
2x Larbre Ferrari 550

Changes:
- Labre: as BMS is going to enter LMES the idea that Larbre would enter FIAGT doesn't sound that weird to me. It's just a guess though.
- Zwaans 550; also a guess, Saleen is cheaper but Mr. Van Der Zwaan loves the Aston. Could be one of the 550-waitinglist-drivers?
- Team Dubai; same as Zwaans.
- Roos; perhaps more news later this month.

it has already been stated that if BMS do not enter the fia gt again, Larbre is ready to go back into FIA GT. DSC had this report up a while ago..
