unfortunatly you are correct - and should be somthing that should change

IF there is a clash of sports on the ASL then Channels should be allowed to use their 2nd channel to show one of them OR hand over the telecast to Foxsports (first option would be better viewer wise, Fox better because we might see it live for a change)

Isn't it only Bathurst that is on that list?

This is actually good... it means we shouldn't have any ads on the BigPond stream, as they will edit them in later. Same thing happened for the China round that was live in bigpond.

The motorsport events on the anti-siphoning list are
Each race in the FIA F1 World Championship held in Australia
Each race in the MotoGP held in Australia
Each race in the V8 Supercar Championship Series (including Bathurst)
Each race in the Champ Car World Series (Indycar) held in Australia.

The Melbourne Cup carnival

A quick reality check: Cup carnival is a big TV event nationally, why would you schedule an event against it. Tip: Melbourne Cup is first Tuesday in November.

You might check the 2010 AFL fixtures against the V8 scheduling, because
V8s play 2nd fiddle ... like it or not !

Sorry Cavvy,
But One Horsepower is just not enough to keep me entertained.

Four Wheels and the sound of a V8 = pure bliss.

Dn't get me wrong show the ponies running, but why screen a replay so bloody late at like midnight, the horses stop running at like 5pm show the news at five and lets go racing i say.

I imagine Channel 7 see no value in running the race during prime time

Yeah, it wouldn't rate as well as "Bist of New Ziland's Copper Chases" or a repeat of a 5 year old episode of Better Homes and Gardens.

No need to get defensive i was just making a point, i see no reason to go on the attack here, all i did was state my personal preference, i still stand by my idea of screening the V8s directly after the ponies, but hey i am not a channel 7 executive and they are not my "personal plaything".

Seven Sucks

So kind of the 7 netw-nK to throw us a bone of 40 minutes (after the adds) at midnight. WTF could it not go on digital 7? Or on after the nags.

I know that they have their ' commitments" but when we get the shaft in favour of decade old movies, or on the digital channel, the "home & away catch up" & simillar pap, it annoys the hell out of me.

I'm getting flashbacks to 7's gayFL/ olympics obsession of the late 90's.

Feel my wrath 7

A bigger problem than television is how they're going to run a meeting without sufficient marshals.
A call went out at Sandown today for any extra marshals to please come down to the Island as there are only 14 confirmed flaggies for 22 positions.
Pleas and desperate requests at the moment but direct threats are expected if they can't get the required numbers.
Things have not gone well for the meeting so far. Two team transporters had an incident on the Monash last night apparently. Traffic chaos and several cars damaged I'm told.
Meanwhile at Sandown a wonderful day, great turnout of cars and friendly people.
Not many F5000s but lots of Formula Pacific/Atlantics and heaps of Formula Fords.
BTW tomorrow night after the racing is the regular Sandown Asian Night Market, so a great day of racing followed up by some top class food and plenty of entertainment.

I can fully understand your anger Marcos WTF. Here in Mexico they have cancelled the bullfighting and the soccer broadcasts just to fit in with the rescheduled overseas event that is now being held on a nortern island of Antarctica instead of Bahrain yes ?? Does your Ch7 not realise that this is a major international sporting event that should be lapped up as essential family viewing in all the households in Australia just as it is here in Mexico.

7two is actually replays of gayFL during the morning, so half right haha.

I don't care what time its telecast, what ****s me is its only an hour. If its that time of the morning, surely they could work out to give us 3 hours like would normally happen on a saturday (or better yet, the whole lot....unmolested by V8TV)

You got anymore info on this? (teams etc)
I assume the cars you refer to are road cars, not the actual race cars (or did a transported flip?)

Two transporters I'm told and several damaged cars but no injuries. Got this from a reliable source at Sandown today can't say what teams except they were both Holden and one was from Queensland (narrows it down quite a bit) the other is based in Melbourne.
I'm sure the driver of that one needed a good stiff drink afterwards. Thankfully a sponsor should have been able to help out.

That narrows it down. Only one 'alcoholic' sponser for holden teams (unless you count wine (ie PMM), personally i dont lol)

No injuries, no damage to racecars, was a nose to tail near Warragul Road crushed panels on cars but in peak hour on the Monash they would've been lucky to have been going 20 kph.
