enemy-ace should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I think the problem with Rocketsports is that they are a 1 car team running 2 cars. I imagine that Gentilozzi is obligated to run two cars to keep up the numbers. RHR was clearly outshone in '05, but his performance in prior years show that he is no slouch.
Hopefully for Wirdheim if he does get a seat with the team it is in the No.1 seat.

Agreed enemy - Rocketsports' secodn driver has always tended to appear less comeptitive thant ehy should be, and while Ryan is not a stunning driver, he has showed better perofrmance than he did in 2005. Perhaps Timo outbid himf or the best equipment via DHL.

I just wonder how the F1 teams currently perceive Ryan, based on his time at Toyota. he could have some work to do to convince them that he's worth taking on, even if he has a great season, as he's not a young gun anymore and he's been at this elvel without success.

Isnt he only 23 ?Now I understand the Rosberg is 20 but 23 isn't exactly past it.

By no means did he embarrass himself during the Friday test role during 2004, so I think he needs to convince F1 teams just as any other driver trying to break in would.

TSN mentions that Giorgio Pantano will be testing for PKV and Franck Montagny will be testing for Rocketsports.

Briscoe recently carried out testing for Toyota, so he certainly keeps in touch with the team.

Just a quick thought. Why wouldn't Brisoe interest Team Australia? With the not so bad season Tagliani had he could surely find a good seat in another team.

Interesting thought Boots. It reminds me that when Nelson Philippe split with Rocketsports that he complained he was getting second rate equipment.

It's odd because we all panned Philippe when he complained so agressively about Rocketsports, assuming that he was blaming the team for something that was primarly his own shortcomming. It turned out that he was a lot better than he looked at Rocketsports. If Philippe thought Rocketsports was unprofessional, etc. imagine how bad they really were!

Those posts from ac and Snrub throw some interestng light on things. I was critical of Philippe during 2004, but his more competant dispalys in 2005 are not the only reason I now wonder if I was harsh. Rocketsports may well have been providing uncompetitive machinery to their second driver, simply through a lack of a strong crew and full enigneering capacity. It'll be itneresting to see how RHR does in 2006 - a strong display could reinforce this theory.

You have to wonder how safe Andrew Ranger's seat is for next year. There were rumours near the end of the season that his sponsors budget was on its last gasp. And it seems like Conquest is inviting new talent to test for them during the offseason.

Late in the season, it came to light that Ranger had to cover all expenses for damages. I would think that his seat is far-from-secure. Shame. I think he's a very talented young Canadian, and that he couldn't give ten-tenths because he didn't have the money to fix a broken car. Therefore, I don't think that we saw him at his best. I really hope he returns to the series next year.

Yeah it was no co incidence that his pace fell with him having to pay for his crash damage.

Deserves his spot on next years grid.
