Really great tracks, i think big nose track is abit long, but the blow torch one is great, would work well with touring cars from the early 90's

Approximately half of both these tracks run on dual carraigeways.
The circuits could be sponsered by Radical, as there base is just on the inside of the corner after the bignose bit Last edited by mattt; 3 Aug 2008 at 10:48. |

They are long, right, but not THAT long. And, given the fact that they are rather pacey tracky, I don't think it's a huge problem.
One remark: I'd use the other side of one of the roundabouts on the left "straight", just for variation. |

Having lived in Peterborough I know that most of those roads would make a great track. I posted this one a while ago using similar sections of road as well as a twistier bit around Walton & Paston. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2145397

It's much better than using googlemaps.
The one thing you do need to watch though is the size of the images you link into. That one would probably be at the maximum size allowable. |

Earth is way better than gmaps. Still, the looks are poor. When you are doing things in paint or something anyway, you could make it look way better, and include things like stands, bridges etc.

atm i'm drawing the track on Google Earth, then adding pits and start finish arrow on using paint.
If I had the time i would probably add more to it |

Whoa, I didn't know you could draw stuff on Google Earth! I must sound pretty dumb saying that huh? Things you learn every day.

Decided i would do another track, this one is based in the Ferry Meadows park in the Orton area of Peterborough. I have done two versions of the track, one is the basic version with track and pits only.
The other version has a lot more additional features to it, including paddock, interior roads, bridges, grandstands(yellow lines) and a small atempt at gravel. Some of the roads may well need moving around with the problems with the gravel traps They both go anti-clockwise |

I'd be slightly worried about the size there Matt.
If you think of Knockhill my local circuit, it's 280m shorter than than your design and is considered twisty yet only has 7 real corners (1 of which is the chicane), and a sweeping bend. There seems to be a lot more direction change in the first and third quarters that might make more like a tarmac rally stage than a street/park circuit. |

I can see this being a slightly better alternative, if only because it's longer at 4.7km.

Yes something around the lake crossed my mind as well, but haven't had the time this afternoon to consider what exactly.

Gooood. For starters, nicely presented. That can't have been done in Paint, surely? I'm guessing anti-clockwise. If it is, you know the pit lane may be a talking point. I'm also thinking that's a very nice track. Some corners I would make longer and faster but overall I like it. Nice job.

I like it. My guess it would be a very fast track with many highspeed sweeping corners.

Yep it was a paint jobby, and yea is anti-clockwise
For an approximate length i though about 5/6 km with a main straight of just over a km I tried to generate as many overtaking spots as possible The track had inspirations from Catalunya, TW previous track, Rockingham and Fuji |

For Anti-clockwise flip the pitlane to the inside.
I'd suggest that it would work Clockwise as well with a few very minor alterations |

I decided to do another quick one and i haven't done one of my own design for a couple of months due to schoolwork etc.
These measurements are very approximate I believe turn 9(labelled) may be a little tight so i added the black section if people agree its too tight I won't be able to get on here after tomorrow night for a week as im going Austria for xmas, so i may be a bit slow replying |
