Entrylist is up to 44 now -just as many as in 2003. And there still might be one more DP.

Does the GT3 cage differ from the Challenge cage, and how do they vary from the GA specifications? Are the GT3's in Daytona24 on some form of waver as field fillers? Here is the link the the NASA forum postings http://www.nasaforums.com/viewtopic....300cd0588f4831 |

"GT3" in Tim's post refers to Porsche 997 GT3 Cup, not an actual FIA-spec GT3 car. And since they regard the 997 GT3 Cups as field fillers in ALMS, Murphy and his buddy AC have decided to declare them as such in GA as well...
FIA GT3 cars are not legal in Grand Am. I am not sure about the specific differences in rollcar design, though. The fat "NASCAR-bars" in the doors are probably part of it. |

I am sorry if I am nattering, but, I do not really follow GA at all, and don't read that much 'news' about them, but Daytona is still a special place to me so I end up sort of following the 24. I quit going a few years ago, and the forcast of rain of Saturday at least will probably mean I won't go again. |

As they didn't sell their full run of 2009 cars, they didn't built any new GA-spec cars for 2010. |

The 07 is a P&M chassis, but I am not sure if Leighton Reese's team turned it themselves into a Vette or if they sent it to P&M for that. The #19 is the Crawford car last run by Stevenson in last years 24 hours.

I thought it was a rather witty riposte to the criticism of the GTC cars in the ALMS for being an 'attack' on Grand-Am. |

Interesting quote from Jimmie Johnson, appareantly he's looking into having a second career in sports cars and do Le Mans after his Sprint Cup career.
Pretty neat.. |

1.5 hours until cars are on the track! 48 hours until I leave for the track!

Here's hoping Chevy hears him and wants a big ad push for the US fans and brings him to Corvette racing for LM. |

Marcel Fassler has been signed up by Audi, so Corvette have a seat availible for the longer races.

That won't happen before he ends his (full-time) NASCAR career though as there`s usually a Sprint Cup race clashing with Le Mans.
I guess it depends on his future success...he might get bored after winning a fifth championship in a row |

Have no illusions that he'll even be thinking fulltime in sportscars before 2015, just hoping anything with ties to LM will still be around by then, even if it is just the GARRA realizing GT3 cars as their GT field is a good idea for variety, and the ACO does the same.

It cant do any harm for such a high profile driver in the states to talk about wanting to do Sportscars and Le Mans

Just looking at live timing I am puzzled at the use of the term Black Flag All Cars. Anybody know exactly what this means please? The track status is shown as yellow at the same time

Usually means to clear the track, mid session.

Interesting to look at photos of the Level 5 (NPN/Crown Royal/Whatever) team garage and see not just a bunch of former Porsche works drivers but some Porsche works polo shirts on the staff in the garage - Roland Kussmaul et al. present. They do know there is a BMW lump in those cars, right?!
