Post office is currently offering 5.2308 dir/£. According to the currency converter on my mac dashboard, the current rate of exchange is 5.501 dir/£ so there's a bit of work to do to find the best deal still!

I think I got that when I went over for the GP but I bought most of it home and changed it back, wish I had kept it now.

Didn't realise i'd be going back again so soon.

so whilst we are talking about the money, what are prices like in Abu Dhabi? Trying to work out how much to take to not leave myself short, but hopefully not bringing large amounts back with me...

when i went for the GP2 & the wife went for V8's.
we both took around £50 - £70, this allowed us to pick up some Yas Marina Branded Racing T-Shirts and have a few beers (approx £5 a pint with 10% off in the crown plaza) in the night with the lads ect.
but personally i wouldnt go over or you could be bringing a few notes back with you.
We came back with a few quid to spare.

One thing for peeps to remember, even tho the hotel is all paid for, a Credit Card or 1000 dir or there about is required at check in to the hotel as a guarantee.
No different to this country, it is for any extra's whilst you are staying.

FRENCHIE44T.
what we had after the F1 we kept, like yourself, we didnt know if we were going back out, but made some really good friends and kept the money as a trip out there in the near future to visit would have been on the cards

tell the staff to lock the mini bar and block international calls from the room, worked for a couple of guys at the GP2 meeting in Feb. I just handed over £30 stirling and said that was all i had, i then paid for what extras i wanted by cash, such as a meal in the hotel on the first night and a couple of beers. I do not have a credit card nor do I really want one, You can use debit card but there is a delay in the un-used moneies registering once you check out.

well usually an opening line of..."if you loved me that much you'd do it"
£9 a nite, thats well posh compared to my car.
the same hotel has been used for the last 2 meets, which is literally a few minutes walk from the back of the support pits.
when i went i travelled light, but half of the stuff i didnt use, when wifey went out, she was able to travel even lighter....
and also if ya got a laptop, mite be useful to take as the rooms have free, yes !!!!! i said free internet access
