Last year the campsite was officially open until 12:00 on the Monday, but I've no idea what would happen if you weren't out by that time!

Silverstone G.P. 2012

Just a reminder at this time of year, I have just started a list from last weekend of information of meetings I have marshaled this year so when I get my 2012 GP form I have got it all to hand. All info needed is in the raceday programme. Date, Circuit, Type, MSA Permit Type & Club. Then you can fill your volunteering form in much more easily.

Just a note for those interested, The British Pnk Floyd Show are playing this year. A blindingly good tribute to Pink Floyd, in fact probably the best in the world. If you like a bit of Floyd, you wont be disapointed.

Don't think it's any later than previous years. IIRC we usually get the paperwork 2-3 weeks before the event.

Don't forget to keep checking the MSA IMS website here, as they published all the paperwork here before posting last year.

We don't do the GP these days - don't do anything FIA - but well done to all those who will be. How great that numbers are such that selection plays a part!

"My" tickets have arrived - grossly over-expensive present for my niece's 18th birthday. Young Sebastian is now referred to as "the future son-in-law".......

By the way, how many marshals can claim to legitimately have a GP badge and bar from their very first year on the bank? Can't remember how I managed it, but I did "grandstand cover" and followed up the next few years doing night fire patrol - which was excellent fun. Actually going out there flagging was something of a let down!

I am looking for guest pass for the weekend, I am marshalling and will have my 2 children in toe. My daughter usualy marshals and has worked copse gate for the past 3 years. But due to a new job she was unsure of getting the time off, she now has the time off and following a recent family breakdown I would like to have my kids with me for the gp weekend.

Well, I started at the beginning of 1992 season and was on post 29 for the European GP at Donington in 1993, which I think was about 12 months after I started.

Kers gloves?

Just asking how you plan to handle responding to F1 cars this year now that KERS is back?

I know you do things a little differently than we do on thins side of the Pond.
But are your "Incident" responders getting their "Own" electrical gloves?

Has it been discussed yet?

I will be in Montreal and we really haven't heard much Officially.

Marshalling the GP again this year. If any other marshal can oblige with a spare ticket for my sons friend (skint student!) then please pm me. A thankyou consisting of cans or bottles of your tipple will be delivered to your camping slot on the Thursday evening.

We were provided with Electricians gloves, last time KERS was used. Horrible, horrible things!

At least it was only the doctors that had the matching boots

Nothing's been said but I did notice a marshal wearing KERS gloves at the Spanish GP on Sunday

Oh lovely lovely Kers gloves. We were quite lucky, the year we had them it was quite a cool weekend, they're going to be really really nasty to wear if its as hot as last year.

I also note that the medical crews have been asked for their shoe sizes so I expect the fetching wellies to be in attendance again!
