Oh wow, I'm probably late to the party but this is the first racing I've seen on the Tilke-d version of this circuit; it's horrible, absolutely vile. Probably not helped by watching the VIR race last week, but still, this looks like I imagine Sochi does.
At least GTE Pro looks interesting and the racing is usually good, but not sure I can watch many hours at this venue. Was their tactic to choose somewhere that makes COTA look good? |

It was fun without commentary for a while there, but it's probably well-timed to have it appear as pit stops begin and things become more jumbled up.
The racing is good here, especially with multiple classes, but I think it's still just a little too difficult to pass in many sections. That's true with slower cars but also within class as I felt during the GP last year. |

It might be a less ugly venue were the sun to be shining ... all it is now is shades fo gray with a little brown ... looks dirty, like an ill-maintained factory. Still much as I love a pretty track, I prefer a good race. This will do.
Makes CotA look good ... hah. Good one. Sad, too .... |

Whilst the stadium section is a terrible layout for a single class, it's provided some brilliant moments for multi class. Similarly the esses are proving to be brilliant for this series. The only things I would change are taking the extra kink out of the stadium, put a bit of grass in the esses and bring back the Aztec style concrete blocks. Longer stops for both Porsches, both full changes whereas the #8 took fuel and tyres but Di Grassi stayed on board.
#5 jumps #2 in stops. Good work from Toyota pit crew. |

Driver change should be done before tyres though. Don't know why Porsche were slow. But that's bad news for the 7 Audi. That was basically a lap behind and only gets a third of it back because of this.
