Good drive by Sharp. I really don't get Farfus, he manages it to ALWAYS hit someone in a race and most of the time off the track. This time again with Sharp, luckely he could keep the car ON the track... What a dick.. Good fight between Coronel and Sharp!

Second race was entertaining as well...
Good news as far as Rob Huff is conerned is that his sister reports him sitting up in bed and ready to check out of the hospital, though the docs want him to stay in overnight for observation... Sure rang his bell though! Hats off to Farfus - not always the cleverest of racers but over the last 2 race weekends he's piled up a HUGE stack of points... Should have been 20 this weekend - if Morbidelli could move over to let him past, why was Tavano not asked to? Seems odd... Anyhoo... hope you all enjoyed it, either with us on Eurosport live or by streaming video And big kudos to Ryan Sharp for race 1 - did you SEE those trophies??? |

Yep Martin enjoyed that coverage there were a few gaps you managed to plug nicely.
Anyone see the green flag lap of Race 2 ? Onboard behind one of the BMW's which was heating it's tyres up you could see the indentations left in the track by the rear wheels! Seriously, do they really have Irish tarmaccer's in Central America ? |

How is it possible that Yvan Muller is driving so terrible the last few races? He went of to a flying start, but now he's only to be seen when he crashes or something. He looks to be the slowest of all the SEAT drivers.
His little incident with Zanardi was a shame for the Italian, he started on p11 and was on p6 after the first lap until that French dude came along. |

first eyewitness opinion about Puebla
First of all, i'm not an basher...i'm just telling what i saw...
I'm just arriving home after spend all day at Amozoc and what i have to say...that the promoter , in this case the Abed brothers (one of them a big shark at FIA) blow up big time the event, i don't know if was visible on tv, but i identify at least 3 serious mistakes by 3 different groups of marshals during the race, the 3 incidents in questions was 3 retired car situations in which they were unable to retire the abandoned cars with the proper eficiency that those situations required, the worst of those was on race 2 with a BMW, that get manage to get trap of the gravel of the curve before the second oval corner, it was freakin frustrating to see that those guys with a pickup truck were unable to get out the car from that posicion before the race finish The racetrack...ok the changes to the layout, pretty cool, however, don't know who the h*** order that tarmac, i could see how the surface start to break up, i know that the state of Puebla was literally put under water during the last 3 weeks with the thunderstaorms and rains they have and don't if this play a role on the surface issue the amenities, many things get better than last year, but other that was ok, get worse...the restrooms for the people were just a freakin mess!!! The racing...this racetrack indeed suits incredibly for touring cars...don't know if was visible on tv, the battles during the 2 races for all posicions was simply one of the coolest racing i ever see... have to go for know...come back later with more and some pictures... I found the races to be quite tame, especially the second.
Not sure if its the track layout or the nasty track surface, but the circuit doesn't seem to lend itself to creating close battles. Bad day for the BMWs, good day for Italians...! |

I think because of the surface, no-one was willing to take the risks they usually would - and it was damn near impossible to pass someone on the inside in the corners - seeing as 90% of every car was already on the kerb!
