I think that they tested a 2 light bulb per headlight earlier. See the 4th picture on the starting page of http://www.toyotahybridracing.com/. Anyway, the LEDs on the 5th pictures of yesterday are new indeed.

At the moment they probably focus on the development of the hybrid drive train.

An updated/rule compliant aero package can be introduced at a later stage, perhaps later this week. This is not going the change the characteristics of the car that much. Just different downforce and drag level, which translates in different grip level and top speed.

BTW Audi is applying a similar approach with the development of their hybrid R18. All the pictures we saw of the R18H were without the fender holes.

I still think most people underestimate the Toyota effort (which is helped by their constant understatement).

If they`re already doing 24h tests in February the development must be progressing very well. If the testing programme keeps that pace the car should be very much sorted out in June.

I totally agree with you, they are doing the right development, and will be very well prepared for Le Mans. Winning? I don´t think so but they will fight very hard.
2013 could be their year ( 1st )

Someone should go to the ACO to tell them to raise the cylinder cap on LMP1 engines to 12. Judd could be able to break the GV out again...

Audi disagrees. Their headlights seem to be their most marketable point! Anyway, would it really have hurt the performance of the car or the lights themselves if they picked better looking lenses?

Oh, and as far as engines go, I would not have minded a 2.1L Turbo Four. Toyota had a little success in 24 hour prototype racing with that setup! Oh, and yes, bring back the V12s! Oh, the glory days.

I think it sounds awesome already. The crazy electric power, then the V8 start-up is great. People are underestimating Toyota, but that's ok. The TS020 took LeMans by storm without ever previously racing. We'll see how people react at Spa.

It does sound great even for a petrol V8, a lot more like a Ferrari GT engine rather than the recent bland prototype V8s (apart from Judd).

they both sound similar. after watching the TS010 onboard i immediately remembered Senna's onboard from Monaco. both engines sound amazing. then again V10s are nothing short of amazing when it comes to sound

There are no cylinder limits in P1. This seems to be common misunderstanding because max 8 cyl was planned originally but it never ended made it to the final regs. You would rather want the displacement limit to be raised because V1x with 3400cc doesn't sound like a winning concept except aurally.

The article says that his team mates are testing at the moment, but Davidson is not. According to http://www.speedweek.de/news/24174/T...et-weiter.html Davidson will test the TS030 for the first time in April.

In the article, which is based on an interview by Autosport, Davidson stresses that he will only do Le Mans this year. That sort of confirms that Toyota will not enter a second car in other WEC rounds.
