Lucky escape from Gommendy, anything over Eau Rouge is likely to end with a big accident.

I must confess that it's the chess game with so many imponderables that has kept me hooked for years!

Porsche and Toyota are out of sync on tires. Toyota are double stinting right now while the Porsche's are on new tires.
I do believe that Porsche have a high temp tire issue they have to work out, because once the track cools, they're fine, but when the track's warm, they're nowhere. |

Gaps down to 30 seconds. Wasn't that long ago it was 45. #7 is being dragged along with the Porsche too.

Unfortunately for Porsche if that's the case, LM happens on one of the longest days of the year.

I am a bit concerned by the #9 being so off. It does not bode well for Le Mans if the Porsche is quick at night, which looks likely considering what's been happening here at Spa when it cooled off.

Despite claims of LMP2s being faster in speed traps, we're still seeing LMP1s passing LMP2s at the end of the straight, where the LMP2 is supposedly faster. The position of the speed traps, combined with the LMP1 energy recovery means we've been getting a false reading on that. LMP1s are still passing LMP2s at the end of straights, certainly not being retaken. |

It seems to change every couple of years. 2011-12, low downforce was favored, 2013, high downforce, 2014-last year, low downforce.

Buemi in. Still will have a splash to do. Fresh tyres for it.

That'll be a penalty for the leading Porsche. Hartley again. Hitting Dumas of all people.

Hartley isn't fond of Spa, is he? He certainly doesn't want to win here.
He's going to get pinged for that clumsy move on Dumas. |

#2 Porsche nailed the #36 Alpine, could have damage. Even if there's no penalty for the collision, if they have to change the nose, that'll probably cost them the race.

Dumas though could have made it a bit easier too, especially since he's a Porsche factory driver.

First instance of where a LMP1 car has to regen while a LMP2 can stay on the throttle longer causing a problem IMO.

Haven is a LOT better than Moody but he hasn't grasped the strategy yet. Pretty sure they all need one more stop, a splash for most from here. They can't run a full hour.

The Porsche was still catching the LMP2, he just braked too late and drove into the back of him. If there's an LMP1 driver you'd bet on messing up with traffic, it's Hartley.
