Of 125 riders I think that at least Faubel will move up next year so he could be one (Spanish) replacement possibility. Of course there is lots of other Spaniards in 250 already. I don't know if it's possible for Barbera to make comeback there after he was pushed down because Lorenzo didn't want to have a team-mate.

I've kept up with the movement as best I can. Lesee:

Hopper to Kawasaki is a real statement of intent by the Green Machine. Although he hasn't won a race yet, he's been incredibly consistent this year and if the bike / team continue to develop, they could well be race winners next season. It will be interesting to see who his teammate will be. I think de Puniet deserves another season. He's a bit wild and throws it down a bit too much, but there is no doubting the kid has speed.

Melandri to Ducati makes sense. Italian on an Italian machine, everyone loves that. But where would Loris end up going? Suzuki? Kawasaki on a third bike? Retirement even?!?!

It appears Lorenzo will be in MotoGP next year but I wonder how many graduates from the Class of 2007 will make the step up. There are certainly a number of fast riders ready to step up but there just are not enough bikes nowadays...

There was talk in the commentary tonight of Dovisioso moving to MotoGP in a single bike team using predominantly his own sponsorship money.

Dovi needs to go to a slow machine, so he can go on convincing people that he is a genius, flattering his bike

Toby and Julian in Eurosport are fighting one against the other to get a date with Dovi They love him so much. I am afraid of Dovi getting the title, we could have an unfortunate cardiac accident in the commentators cabin.

Small tidbit here, but haven't seen it anywhere else yet:

"250 ace Jorge Lorenzo is nailed-on as a Yamaha MotoGP rider next year but in his own one-man team with Fortuna

well in our comentary last night they mentioned that Vermulen is on a couple of shopping lists and has been linked with Yamaha ??? i don't think so i think he will stay aboard the Suzuki, but i for one wouldn't want to be Valentino's team mate because on the same machinery he will beat you 9 times out of 10.

Somehow I get the impression you dont agree with Toby and Julian, and the majority of the world, I say, the majority of the universe...

That would change the whole situation at Aprilia as well, refering back to post #149 of this thread.

The perfect team for Dovi would be with Melandri and a "new" Honda with a "floating" and disconcerting front fork. It would be fun to watch those two claiming they are unfairly treated by the japanese manufacturer (even if it is true, would be fun). Possibly Gresini's hair would be white at the end of the season.

Elias? It a pity his brand and Lorenzo's don't fit but those two would make a "sparky" team . How many GPs without a good punch in the face in the pits?

LCR for Dovi looks good but rumour control is that he wasnt the DAntin Ducato ride

Big enws today though is that Brivio is pushing I think to get Yamaha Tech-3 on Michelin, maybe to try and keep Edwards on board on a Yamaha Micehlin bike.
He will obviously make way for Lorenzo, but if Mich/Yam can keep Edwards the tyre genius will keep Rossi happy!!

I would be very surprised if the 250 boys will be riding for a single bike team next year. I don't doubt Lorenzo thinks he can do it on his own, but Dovizioso might be smart enough to know it is safer to ride under the wing of an experienced rider in your rookie year.

Did we see this one coming? Capirossi to Rizla Suzuki:

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sp...ocksuzukimove/

He has had half a season with dissapointing results and is already leaving... Or was the Ducati a winning bike al those 5 years and Loris hasn't shown it?

So, who is going to ride the 2nd Ducati? Melandri?

WOW never seen that comming, Chris has agreed to stay all he has to do now is put pen to paper, iwould rather be Cap-i-rex's team mate at Suzuki than Rossi's at Yamaha atleast at Suzuki you have a chance over your team mate, this is good for Capi, hopefully that gives Westy a better chance at the Kwaka seat, i think Melandri for Ducati Stoner will whoop his butt.
