2. Their Sponsor Hella Pagid send yesterday a presstext about their plans for 2021, no word about the DTM. 4. Walkenhorst-Teammanager Nicolas Königbauer told me yesterday, that they didn´t have plans to drive in the DTM. |

Racing One is the team that was racing with Niels Langeveld in TCR Germany a few years back?

Quite a shame really as for now there are not many big teams interested. I believe in two months' time everything will be clear. |

Mercedes will support customer teams in the DTM this year with spare, factory drivers and potentially funding.
I imagine we might see the Haupt Team or similar, alongside maybe an expanded GruppeM effort. Hoping for 4 cars from AMG! |

It's a very very good sign, I think there'll be at least 4 AMG cars, maybe even 5.
Haupt could be one of the teams, maybe HTP as well? I hope for Maro Engel and Maxi Buhk behind the wheels! |

AMG just signed Jules Gounon from Bentley, and Dani Juncadella to their factory roster, so plenty of options.

Gonna be a true manufacturer series it seems. I just hope we get enough top quality drivers too, which I’m sure we will

I can bet Juncandella is part of their DTM plans even though he was never quite a big thing in DTM.

Juntos’ pointless ramblings aside, you’re right.. I’d imagine that’s why they added him as a factory driver. Covering DTM gives them another GT series to provide factory guns for so makes sense to bolster the numbers a little as GT clashes are going to be interesting this year. Add COVID to that mix too given we might still see further condensing of the racing year |

Let's see what happens. I see nothing wrong with adding Junca to their DTM programme. Gives them more options. I don't think clashes with other series will be too much of a factor. We should get a good season of racing anyway this year. Good calendar, great cars and some very talented teams and drivers

Haupt Racing Team and HTP-Winward are almost certain to field two cars each, Gruppe M will likely stay with one. Mücke is also in talks to join with at least one car. So that makes 5-7 Mercedeses.

That would put us in the high teens on-grid count, I think anything above 20+ cars, with high-level drivers in, would be a success of the move to GT3

Not exacly high teens, we have 10 cars with Gruppe M. Add 4 cars of Haupt and HTP and there are 14 of them. Mücke isn't as likely for now but yes, if they are to field two cars, then it's 16, already the same number as last year.
Hopefully it'll be a few strong teams more so that we reach about 22 cars. That'd be great. |

So two cars fewer on the grid. Doesn't look good unless another team could field two McLarens with some support from the manufacturer.

2 Seas is switching to Mercedes. It is unclear, that the cars will race in the DTM.

I think RJN will run just one car. It all depends on how much support McLaren are prepared to give. If they decide to give extra support it could happen, but we'll see what McLaren decide to do

It's funny how it all comes to another A-B-M championship (with extra load of Berger's friends with caffein soda) but with cars that are not that unique. More funny is the fact that DTM tried to make their own GT500 but in fact struggles even to match GT Masters or Open GT. They used to throw tons of money into "marketing" and - loosing manufacturers support - they have no clue how to act in "free stream" even on GT3 level. While Berger is "saving" his fleet waiting for Electric DTM and another healthy manufacturers' hand the wind can blow in other direction and he'll have to wait another 5-10 years before Board Meeting decides to go hydrogen or atomic energy.
