The news that I read came from Gabriele Tosi, a reliable source if ever there was one.

No Jos Verstappen on the Larbre 550; on his website he sais "they contacted him, but because he didn't have enough time to prepare he decided not to do it".

Lieb,Rockenfeller, Luhr very good line up. Lieb and Rockenfeller were awesome at LM. The way Rockenfeller was driving the GT3 at LM qualies was very impressing. I put that car at my prediction for number 1 in GT2.

GNM will enter one Saleen and one Porsche GT3RS in the 24h race.
Paolo Rubert will drive the Saleen, co-drivers and drivers for the Porsche not yet announced.

Yep seen that somwhere - so we only have 1 Saleen? (Not too much of a worry, all 5 were out by half distance last yr...)

Any more Vipers than Force One?

Any Bi-Turbo Porsches?

Red Racing?

The Lambos will not race at Spa. Cirtek will run only the F550.

Only the F550? I thought they were looking forward to running their Aston at Spa too...? What gives?

Cirtek does not want to run their DBR9 now at Spa because the factory will have 2 cars there and they know they wont be initally as fast as them.. So RAR will debut their DBR9 now at Oschersleben.

Sensible decision, I guess. Although they might be able to learn from the factory team during the weekend...? Never mind.

Shame - I was looking forward to watching Bouchut in that. Mind you, he still makes a 550 go very quick

Some interesting possibilities. Why has four drivers become the norm for Spa when at Le Mans and Sebring it's three? It's also a bit of a shame to see Vanina Ickx in a Group 3 Porsche Cup car when she's just finished third in a prototype at the Monza 1,000 Kms.

Quite a small entry list, although a extremely strong one IMO. I count 8 likely winners. the 2 Aston Martin's, the 2 JMB cars, the 2 Vitaphone cars and the #2 G.P.C car and #6 GPLK car. Other outsiders would obviously be the 2 Gruppe M cars, is there anything to choose between them? Maybe, id say the #88 car is a little stronger.

Absolutely nothing but Porsches in GT2 :-(
Having 4 drivers is to allow teams more chance of getting a budget together while still being quick (2 pay drivers & 2 pro drivers is better than 2 pay drivers & 1 pro).

its nice to see that Tommy Erdos and Mike Newton kept to their plan of running the Spa 24hrs this year. I think both "Nash" Saleens should hold together for the race, as long as they have some steady drivers.

The Aston's are the favorites, but you never know.. The 2 Vitaphone Maserati's and the lead JMB Mazza will also be quick. And not to mention the GLPK Racing Vette, and the Lead Larbre Ferrari.. this is a very open race.. i cant wait!

Since the Astons had problems at Le Mans & the Mazza has never raced for 24 hours, I still feel a Ferrari will take the win (unless it rains heavily again - then a GT2 Porsche could sneak in once more).

Went to the test day yesterday at Spa. It was awesome! Many teams were there, but no Saleens. Also, only one DBR9 (Kox). Two Maserati teams were present with two cars each, among the JMB in which Robert vd Zwaan went out for his first taste of the MC12... and his last. It appeared that Bertolini in the other JMB MC12 had hit him, trying to pass the Zwaans' car in a place were it simply wasn't possible (I don't know where exactly) according to sources. Result: red flags, some minor damage to the Bertolini car, but fatal damage to the Zwaans-car which had to be brought in on a truck. Too bad for Robert, we talked to him briefly later on, and he was really not happy not being able to give the MC12 a good afternoon's series of laps.

For us it was a great day though, we could even walk inside the Maserati's pitboxes and take unlimited photo's without being chased away. I even took photo's of an dismantled MC12's gearbox. I'll post some good pics later on.

Could it be that Zwaans Racing is opting for a Maserati for next year?

Lets hope so Wout, would be great to see IMO. How big a budget does Zwanns have though? Would a 550/575 be more likely? Either way would be great to have them back.

Zwaans is not opting for a MC12 unfortunately, there's no budget for that. Spa24h is a one off run for them this year, there aren't any steady plans for next year yet.

I was at the Spa testday as well (with BeQuietAndDrive). Was a great day, bit busier than last year but still lovely and quiet compared to raceweekends. These testdays are awesome for public as teams are nice and unstressed, you're allowed to look at everything, walk trough all pitboxes, etc. Was a great day for sure, Robert's spin in the MC12 was a bit of a downside, right before he got in the car he told me that "you don't want to put such a car in the gravel so he was going to do it very very easy". It appeared Bertolini punted him off, I heard it was filmed but haven't found it yet.

Hello to all forum members

I've been to Spa yesterday too spending 4,5h in my car and using a full tank of gas. Lovely secondary roads there

It was worth it, impressive car this Aston Martin. Even more the MC12 with it's very rude TC and upshifts.

Not to forget the alien-like performance of Gruppe M Racing, especially the #66 of Lieb/Rocky.

"The more it rains, the more wins a GT2" (namely Gruppe M) sums it up pretty well I think

For all of those who had to work or have a long long journey to Spa, I made some shots from various places around the track including some spots where you normally have no access as a normal person

Hope you enjoy them, I'm still working on the videos
