You get assigned one pitch which you would get 2 small tents up in and the guest band allows access to the campsite so yes. I had my guest share my caravan with me last year. I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I did last year and I hope I get selected again this year and also my guest from last year that was still then only a trainee gets selected as he missed not being in orange. It was his 1st event as a spectator since stating marshaling.

Got my "sorry" letter this morning - would like to have done Silverstone GP just the once, but appreciate that at least I now know I'm free to help out elsewhere so long as I can get past the local traffic jams for the GP.

Bit of a bummer got a thanks but no thanks this year, thought I would have been selected but not this time.

booked time of work and everything as had to get holidays booked before the selection process, so now will spend a week with nothing to do.

Bit pe'ed of really as I've done the last 2 years for them but obviously not good enough to do the last one there.............................

Just noticed that my letter refers to the GP being 4-5-6 July - methinks ye olde copy & paste of last year's paperwork went a bit awry.

Dave - Leg Ends is tempting, but Brands is closer .......

that's your guest pass allocated then! He'd better keep you well supplied with snacks and drinks whilst you're out on post.

Not having gone through this process before - if some of the successful folk drop out, do the organisers dip back into the rejects pile to fill the gaps, or is a margin built in? Not hoping, just curious

I also got my rejection this morning, so I will probably also head down to Brands for the 750MC meeting.

The rejection frees up a couple of days holiday as well, which I will probably take the week before. Go to Scotland, spend some time with family, and do the British GT at Knockhill.

A little disappointed not to get accepted for the grand prix, but there are enough other good meetings this year to make up for it. WTCC & F2 at Brands looks interesting, and the FIA GT at Silverstone is a must, last chance to see (and hear) the big GT1s before the new regulations come in next year.

Got the 'Yes' this morning

Why so many 'no' letters this year? Everyone trying to do the last British GP?
