I can hardly believe that we've gone since the 24th July without a post on this thread. Everyone must be on holiday....

Still, not long now: only 42 weeks to go!

Unless I've miscounted it's 42 weeks (well 41 and 5 days) to test weekend...

...although as the ACO hasn't actually announced the date for next year, we don't really know.

Incredible to think that 10 weeks ago today, right now, I was having a pre-Le Mans meal with the other Tourists before heading off to Portsmouth for the ferry........

Dang. Now I'm depressed again.

We've just got to get Christmas over with and then we'll be getting closer to Le Mans rather than moving further away.

Not necessarily. The date for the N24 isn't fixed yet and the ADAC won't be that stupid, will they?

The date for the N24 is fixed - it's been on their website for over a month.

Where?
From what I've read, it's not fixed. They'd like the June date because it might mean that the new construction work could be complete by that time (which is why the N-GmbH announced the opening ceremony for June 11th and stated it would be directly before the 24h), but since it's very possible that the work will take longer, they are still considering holding the race in May. I won't believe anything until I read a press release from the ADAC.

Maybe we should take this to a Nürburgring 24h 2009 thread?

It also clashes with the Isle of Wight Festival, which for me means an absolute struggle to get the time of work, as everyone wants to be off that week

Hurrah I've manged to bend some ears, call in some favours etc etc and I'm free to travel to Le Sarthe.

Next year my farther and I are thinking of going with Speed Chills, I know a chap on here works for them having spoken to him, but what are they like? I know the basics (camp, bar etc), but where is the nearest viewing point on the track, do they have a reserved one or not?

I get the feelin we will certainly see the Horag Spyder at Le Mans in 2009 , with a garanteed entry .

They have a Spyder , plus a spare and complete trimmings , and is works supported too . I cant see somehow , that getting missed .

2009 dates

I have no inside information on the dates.....other than reading what others have heard from their friends and contacts BUT

this is what Scott Atherton said in his ALMS Press Conference last week at Road Atlanta

The American Le Mans Series also races at St. Petersburg, FL (April 4); Long
Beach, CA (April 18); Salt Lake City, UT (May 17); and Lime Rock Park, CT
(July 18). France's 24 Hours of Le Mans, where many of the Series top teams
and drivers participate, is scheduled for June 20-21
.

http://www.imsaracing.net/2008/news/...R%20VISION.pdf

It is possible that he has his dates mixed up...............

Everything I have read indicates the week before that is the 13th/14th this is also the date the ticket agencies are showing however nothing confirms those dates on the ACO website.

Likewise, and the British GP is scheduled for 21/6. Surely the ACO will avoid a GP weekend (especially one so close to home) if they possibly can given the current economic climate.

I'm still convinced it will be 13/14.

Just as convinced as I was that the second Epsilon Euskadi wouldn't be added to the entry list at Le Mans....

So don't rely on me
