And finished 20th nearly every race & gave it away after 1 season - he was riding for the top Honda team too...

Ash Walsh is fast, always has been back to the Formula Ford days - hope he makes it thru to the main series....

Certainly Casey's presence has add some interest to the series and I am sure he will get there.

But interesting to compare his learning curve compared to Captain Chaos.

Wayne Gardner had one Formula Ford start, one DTM test and a run with Graham Moore at Bathurst and then drove for HRT. And won his third race start with HRT - the dash at Symmons Plains.

Gregg Hansford likewise needed only a few starts before he was on the pace the and Graeme Crosby too.

Casey wasn't the cause of Mr Owens drama. Owens drama was caused by a deflated tyre hence he went backwards through the pack and Casey tried going around him, which then caused the off track excursion.

obviously WR are asking top dollar so one would assume that the Kelly Krates were resonably priced?

You'd think everyone would be doing deals, but I'd imagine you'd have to pay someone to take the Kelly Krates

LOL! Check out wording

The victory was the first for a female driver in a national specification Australian Formula Ford since Leanne Tander’ s triumph at Phillip Island in 2000
National specification Australian Formula Ford? Woah! That sounds impressive! Obviously not wanting to acknowledge that it was just a minor heat win in a state competition. Not even an outright win, just a class win. Only one win of four races. Two rounds down, Chelsea hasn't even got an outright podium yet. Obviously Evans Motorsport like rewarding mediocrity. The benefits of being a chick.

Since it became V8Supercars, do you not count the efforts of Melinda Price, Kerryn Brewer, or Leanne Tander nee Ferrier?

Hi all,

For those interested in learning more about Chelsea please find her bio below (from her web site chelseaangelo.com.au):

"...After a successful junior career in Motocross and then karting, Victorian teenager Chelsea Angelo has embarked on the next step in her motorsport career with a move into the Formula Ford ranks in 2012.

Chelsea got her first bike when she was just six years old and started racing at the tender age of eight. After three successful years of motocross at Nunawading and Frankston tracks Chelsea moved into karting at the age of 11.

Initially competing in club events at the Puckapunyal and then Todd Road circuits Chelsea showed her potential in her first year of competition with a win in her Club Championships as well as being named Rookie of the Year.

Whilst still in the Rookie class Chelsea entered her first Victorian Open title and qualified a remarkable second in a field of 40, before moving up to the highly competitive Junior National Light class the year after.

A string of wins and pole positions in major championships in both Junior National Light and Junior Max classes underlined Chelsea’s undoubted ability and after being selected as a participant in the Arrow Rewards Program Chelsea made the jump into circuit racing in Formula Ford.

Joining forces with the Evans Motorsport Group ‘Young Guns’ program Chelsea will embark on a testing schedule throughout 2012 with a view to making her race debut late in the year.

2013 will see Chelsea embark on a full season in the Victorian Formula Ford Series as well as entering selected rounds of the Australian Championship.

In April 2013 Chelsea achieved the Phillip Island Lap Record for Formula Ford, and in May achieved her first race win.

Outside of Formula Ford Chelsea enjoys jet skiing and her training. She also loves dancing and cooking.

Good old AdCafe is at it again, letting us all know to feel sorry for the Russell's.

http://www.speedcafe.com/2013/07/02/...am-a-man-down/

isn't that the standard policy of airlines? And I assume there was no request for comment from QANTAS? Good old investigative advertising, rather than journalism, at its best.

I read that, and honestly travel insurance costs $400 a year at most, any racing team should pay for it for every person they are flying. That is not news, its PR.

probably in the hope that QANTAS will hear about it in the public domain and try to sort it out for them

The more interesting piece to that article is that Mr Hector seems to have upped stumps and moved his car to Matt Stone Racing this weekend...

Good to see the development series on the teev today!

Wow there are some drivers there that need to sharpen up their racecraft. A pass isnt a pass until the whole car is in front, not just the nose... and if there is no room for a car to go... dont go there!

Mr Walter's car took a mega hit.. badly bent I should think... but there were others racing for sheep stations back in 65th positions or something.. putting their cars into track position where they should not be..

Mr Stoner wasnt very happy today... wonder if he will see out the season? Article Here

There is apparently a new phrase being coined in Townsville this weekend ... to be ‘Stonered’... where a pass that has a -5000 out of a 100 chance of coming off is attempted, and there is a melding of body parts.. a rubber object or two bursting... and a number of participants losing their positions.

Wonder if that is in the Karma Sutra?

Some major wrecks again in the 3rd race they showed today

Mr Russell has a narrower GoKartsGo Falcon than the one he brought... plus plenty of others needing new doors & other panels..

Any reason these guys ran their 3rd race on softs, having not run on them, having not tested them, before being unleashed on the world?

Nuts

Meantime, Mr Owen & Mr Wood streeted the field... even with multiple safety car interruptions...

Sure, but why not run a whole race meeting on softs... somewhere simpler, like QR or Winton or something. All would be the same for everyone...

The blokes with the experience on softs just walked away from them..

Funny, I remember the days when sticking your nose in was good racing, denied the driver in front the line into the corner and gave you the chance to compete on the exit. When did it change so that overtaking can only happen on the straights?
