WR planned to use this engine. PSA has also developed a 3.6L V8 Diesel, which is used mainly by Ford and Land Rover/Range Rover. However this does not feature in any of their cars, so very unlikely. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_AJD-V6/PSA_DT17#3.0D.2FTDV6.2FHDi Pescarolo did also use an elderly Peugeot V6 in the beginning. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSA_ES_engine The WM which set the top speed used the previous PRV V6 Engine, also production based. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PRV_engine Last edited by CTD; 5 Feb 2013 at 18:09. |

Plugs the air intake to keep trash out? Also, can be used for the stall test. Plug those in and the car should stall for lack of air or if it keeps running, it indicates an air leakage somewhere letting in air into the engine that should not be going in.

The bright yellow ball? It's attached to a board that covered a sidepod air? intake while on the grid and the ball was there so the mechanics would not forget to take it out prior to the start.
Have seen it on other cars on the grid too. Purpose to the board is unknown to me. |

You have to wonder whether the Citroen WRC team can survive that - especially with Loeb moving on.

OK, it's a 208 not a 908 but it is a return of sorts to international motorsport. I would love to see this.

I doubt it, LMP1 is pretty much the second most expensive sporting programme you can have aside from F1.
A one-off event with a rally car can probably be done for a fraction of the costs. They slap a turbo on the S2000 car, add a bit of aero and that's it. I doubt it will break the bank. It took Peugeot 13 years to return after their last withdrawal and I believe we`re looking at a similar timeframe here. I can't see them return this decade, even if the company makes a drastic turn for the better...which does not seem to be in the cards right now. |

However, the fact that Peugeot keeps a part of their motorsport program alive is positive. They do have quite a comprehensive program currently (Mostly with the 208) |

Judging by the pics of the car "undressed" and with the intake system exposed, it seems as if something more than the rear wing found a new life in this thing. The intake looks strangely familiar, almost as if we've seen it before... oh yeah, the V8 turbodiesel in the 908.

Nice to see a Peugeot Pikes Peak car again.
Sad to see another part of the Le Mans project used to other stuff that the original purpose. (The Copper Concept used the whole powertrain of the 908) |

^Picture really makes me wonder why they abandoned a successful sports car program...even more so now that there is a red bull logo on the side of the car. How many racing series is Red Bull now a sponsor of except sports cars? F1, Nascar, Rally (pikes peak at least) DTM anymore?

The whole Pikes Peak program is probably quite small compared to LMP. I wouldn't compare them at all.

Red Bull are probably along for the ride in part because of Loeb- that's my guess.

The whole project is a pic and mix of previous racing efforts. The 908 rear wing and the Pescarolo V6 as some examples. (The only modern Peugeot sportscar V6 I could think of) |

This car looks like a monster. It'd be amazing to have races with these 'unlimited' hill climb cars. Loose regs, just use something that resembles a car from your stable and put on the aero you want but limit the costs somehow. Truly some spectacular vehicles.
