Could it be a lack of yellows/ slow zones? Did they push for an extra lap but didn't have a chance for fuel saving erarlier in their run?

Which he should do. He did an extra lap. He should've gotten that warning before the pit entry (otherwise it's a pointless warning, as the team will be shouting at you on the radio).

No there is no prescribed stint length like a hard limit in the regulations

No the fuel thing just match up with Toyota having the history of doing something wrong. What I really dislike is the frank disregard for the rules. I want to see that stop and go apply to #8! Don't get me wrong, I'm a massive Alonso and Toyota fan, but they owe us a stop and go!

I never knew so many people could be offended so violently by others enjoying or being introduced to their sport. Indy embraced Alonso and enjoyed the ride but here it seems he's the devil and going to ruin the event for all of time. Honestly enough to turn my stomach and I have not listened to a minute of RLM after hearing them whinge on and on like a small child who lost his toy.

And everyone here spent days ripping Dagys for saying there was a hard lap limit introduced in LMP1 saying there was no such thing, now everyone wants penalties for violating what they claimed wasn't an actual rule? Which is it, or just now utter hatred of all things ACO allowing Toyota to compete and Alonso?

out of the 35 stints the #7 car has done, only 8 of them were free of any type of yellow flag running. Lots of interruption in this race.

I know it'll make it hard to move around the paddock at Silverstone. All the fans who spend all the time waiting for his autograph instead of watching the races.

It's a bit of swings and roundabouts. We get less safety cars now days but the slow zones count as yellow, so the yellow number goes a lot higher.

I'm really enjoying the lack of safety cars nowdays.

Fernando's night stint was possibly stint of the race. Ultra-fast and super consistent. There's not much else you can ask from a driver.

So more money spent at the gate without them watching the racing? Seems like more room for you to watch the race and get more money in the Silverstone coffers? Ok, leaving will likely be a chore but it seems like it is always so that's not much of a change

I haven't listened to RLM this year, but it was the same story when Hulkenburg won. They are pathetic and have a real complex about F1 drivers...and of course conveniently forget that literally every top-tier sportcar driver was at one time a single-seater hopeful with F1 aspirations.

I really hate that subset of sportcar fan...

Even if only 6 people go to Silverstone, it seems to have logistical issues emptying the car park anyway! So nobody will notice.
