Gavin/Milner pairing looking pretty good so far this year!
On another subject, it was posted in one of the rumor threads that Corvette may be going to LMP1 in 2014 with new rules. I'm more inclined to wait and see. However, if they do, will they keep their present drivers or look for some of the big proto boys who were thrown out of work with loss of Peugeot? DK |

If true it's a) a massive scoop and b) an absolute dream scenario. A massive shot in the arm for the ALMS and sportscar racing. 2014 really needs a couple of manufacturers other than Porsche to solidify things in case we do see Toyota and Audi head elsewhere. |

Well the article says they wouldn't give up ALMS. I think 2014 may bring out more Japanese Manufacturer interest on top of Porsche. And I believe Toyota will stay as the hybrid aspect will be increased dramatically then, we all know Toyota is the leader in hybrid sales, so why not show the world you're the leader on the track? If this story is true, and GM/Vette go P1, I can't wait.

Yeah that does not seem to fit this mold
I am not a big fan of making prototypes look like actual road cars. We can leave that to Grand Am. Last edited by Dyson Mazda; 19 Apr 2012 at 04:14. |

Except the photoshopped EVO is way prettier.
I've gotta say, Milner's been way more impressive during these two opening races already than he was all last year. |

I wish 2014 LMPs had this kind of roof shape/dimensions ^ This one actually looks lower and sleeker that any of the current coupes.

It'd be great to get cars that look like that as the P1's. Almost like a throw back to the late 90's GT1's.

ffs, it looks like a gt1 car. lmp1/lmp2 should be as far away from gt/road cars as possible (in appearance). imho.

sure, the bodyshape of corvette evo is cool, but for sure hasn't the best aero efficency. I guess that will be something like the lola aston, a lmp1 coupè with some detail of the bodywork that resemble the road car (the four rear lights or something like that)

Keeping in mind that the autoextremist piece was a complete fabrication opinion piece..... it isn't going to happen.
Cadillac may move, but most likely to NA DTM, to race against it's competitors Audi, Mercedes and BMW... all also in sedans. The Corvette Evo was for the 2012 rules I think, that never came to fruition... that were rumoured to go to more road car like designs.... yes it does look like they used that design for the DP3. Body style/aero is about identical to the design Corvette did.... Just the skin.

Um, so change the side vent from the Z06 one to the ZR1 vent and expose the carbon on the roof? Or are you suggesting there is more difference?....
