I got the feeling the IMSA group was just Corvette fans being angry their favourite got BOP'd into the lead of the race

Hands up for the privateer lmp1s today too. They had some issues but were 'only' 5 or 6 laps behind the winning Toyota and did a good bit of sub 3:20 lap times. I don't know how close they would have been if they were given 11 lap stints like Toyota but I hope that rule goes away.

Marriot just spoke to a Toyota crew member - apparently, the wrong tyre was changed on the #7 the first time.

Daniel Serra has won Le Mans GTE Pro outright in 2017 with Aston Martin, and today in 2019 with Ferrari.
Are there any other GTE drivers who have won Le Mans with two different manufacturers in this modern era? |

Was that Pier Guidi getting back into the car after the race?

Not a bad race after all. I think the first half of the race was excellent and kept me glued to the TV for hours at an end. Second half other than the Toyota drama wasn’t really a patch on the first half unfortunately but on balance I’d still say it was a enjoyable race. |

Very pleased for the Keating Ford, looked like it wasn’t going to be for a short while. And superb race by Signatech Alpine......
Gutted for Corvette and disappointed by Aston Martin when it came to race pace. Not all down to BOP changes, surely? |

The LMP1, #8 drivers acting a bit like F1 guys, everyone else wearing Michelin or team hats and they're carrying their Michelin and wearing the personal sponsors Red Bull and Kimoa

F1 drivers always change their hats for the podium. Bernie put it in the rules that they would be shot if they did not.

Well, if the tire pressure sensors were acting up, it's possible. Would've been averted if they just changed all four first chance they got.

Some of those guys at the gate have WAY too much energy for the end of the race running full sprint to the podium ceremony

Why did they change the wrong tyre? Are the sensors named wrong in the software? Did the engineer read it wrong? Did the mechanics not understand which tyre?
