People say Alonso is a bit of a selfish person but I doubt he'd want to take doing the final stint away from Nakajima.

He is absolutely not a selfish person. He was the first to tell everyone that he did not set the pole time. The media treat him selfishly, but he certainly is not.

And Audi only started doing F1-style cars because the ACO wouldn't let them develop other lighter hybrid systems that would compensate for the heavier weight of a diesel engine block. They had to spend the money somewhere...

Copied from another forum (not by me originally):

Nothing will come of it because, contrary to popular belief, spinning the wheels while up on the jacks isn't disallowed. Running the engine during the stop is against rule 10.8.1.22 - which IIRC is what teams are punished for when a car "spins its wheels" on the jack. Toyota doesn't run the ICE in the pitlane, so no penalty under that rule. People (especially the RLM team) have been conflating this with 10.8.1.15. "It is strictly prohibited to spin the wheels when a car leaves the pit". So as far as I can see, you're allowed to spin the wheels as much as you like while it's up on jacks, as long as you don't do it using the ICE.

There's also a rule about the engine running whilst on the jacks (which is what people are penalised for when the wheels spin). The whole point in that rule is to stop mechanics having hands ripped off.

So it seems as though hybrids may be excluded from this safety rule. Which also would explain why the Toyota can pull away so quickly - it can all be engaged on the jacks, whilst the other teams are regulated to not be allowed to do that.

In the Spa thread I was repeatedly told that there was no hard limit on fuel length for green flag stints because the statement said SHOULD and that was just an intention.

Turns out I was right - the word "should" means they can apply it as a hard limit.

This is silly now.

So did they get two penalties for the same thing - i.e. they went one lap over AND used too much fuel in doing so. Hence 2 stop&gos ? Seems a bit harsh if so.
