Does Willmington still own the Supra? The Great Race Book for 1992 has that car sold to Roger Alexander and run that year at Bathurst by John Bourke and Keith Carling.

I recall one of the Toyota Corollas went to Inspired Racing. The other was used by Colin Bond to build up the first of the Super Touring Hyundais..brakes, suspension and gearbox at least were used.

Is anyone able to advise what brand of seats HRT ran in 2001 & 2002. Ditto PWR in 2003 and 2004?

Better yet anyone have some photos of Jason Brights cars during those seasons, ideally showing the interior?

Seeing as we're talking about more recent cars, what are the whereabouts of 2001 Skaife/ Longhurst & 2002 Skaife/ Richards cars? How about the 2003 & 2004 Murphy/ Kelly cars? Are these all being campaigned in in the Fujitsu series?

While I'm at it, I thought that HRT still had the 'Gabriel' shell but was recently told that it had been sold - has it been?

Cheers.

The HRT 01 02 Bathurst winner { The golden child } is retained by HRT.

The Murph / Kelly 2.06 pole lap car and Bathurst winner has just been purchased by Tony Bates and should make an appearance in the next Fujitsu round.

The second Murph / Kelly Bathurst winner is owned by the D'Alberto's.

From memory, the "Golden Child" was meant to be retained in 01/02 style skin, but was swiftly converted in 03 for the Gold Coast round due to the smash the car suffered at Bathurst (Skaife was in Kelly's car).

It then hit a wall with a stuck throttle from "Cobwebs"....

Interesting to see if it was converted back - the 02 scheme was a pretty one for a VX.

I seem to remember reading in AMC (one of the V8 bathurst winner history & where are they now stories) that HRT planned to convert the 'golden child' back to VX look (i.e. panels & colourscheme), but weren't going to un-project blueprint it, as it is a huge amount of work they could put into the (then) current race cars instead (keep in mind how frequently HRT/HMS were producing VT-VZ shaped cars!)

As far as Gabriel - the Lowndes 96-99 VS - i seem to remember reading in this thread that it had been sold to a Qld-based V8 team or interests. Does anyone know what came of this?

One other query, i was watching some highlights of 1994, and saw Longhurst's B&H VP Commodore. Whats the history of this car, and where did it go when he switched to the Castrol Falcon in 95? I noted it had 5-stud wheels, so i though i may have been a Perkins Unit, but it looked like the Cage was B&H yellow (an obvious identifying feature maybe, as not many VP's had yellow exteriors - other then B&H & Lansvale)

Remember that G. Murphy was pretty much the :"VT Testing King"....and he still got "Crennan"-ed over.

I really wonder what the "future NZ Prime Minister" could have achieved if he wasn't given the "Pirate Treatment" and shown the "Jolly Roger".

Remember when "Walk-out-Gate" occurred, there were 3 parties looking at the whole shooting match in this part of the world - Australasia - and they were all out of NZ

The Longhurst B&H VP was a Perkins built car which became Paul Romano's car from 95 for many years ( except 96 when he drove for Pack Leader ) Do not know it's current whereabouts.

Yes, that's the car. It ran in selected 95 rounds in B&H colours ( without the signage ) and actually qualified well at the Oran Park final round ( 6th ? ) when Romano was supplied some late-spec Bridgestones. The car then sat out a year and eventually came back with a fresh coat of red and white paint and belted around for quite a few years.

Hi Rowan,

Who bought your VC and what do they plan to do with it? If it wasn't the 1980 Bathurst winner, what was it's history?

I still own the car.

I withdrew all claims that my car was the 1980 winner pending CAMS CoD. This has also had the effect to flush out the pretenders (Qld) and all of the romour mongers!!!

Much good news there!

Until the CAMS HTCEC can provide me with their evidence otherwise, the whole situation is a stalemate. The CAMS HTCEC had refused to show me their evidence that led to their position on my car. Not happy to place the evidence on the table so to speak! It also appears that some of the members of the HTCEC have either 'gone to ground' on this one or just gone to ground as other matters close in, or handball to the Chairman of the HTCEC (there currently isn't one?). I believe I have an agreement to meet with the Chairman of the Historic Commisssion, arranged through the (paid) CAMS Manager of Historic Racing, that they will present all of their evidence at this meeting but as they are busy leading up to the grand prix (don't know why Historic people are involved in the gp???) so this will happen post agp (Annual General Pi5s-up)

I think that's a very good price. The historical signifance of Dick's first Bathurst car must be pretty huge.

IIRC It was sold to a young guy named Marc Oberg who did a few races in it, I think it was a bit beyond him, and the Marc and the car disappeared.

Marc has popped back into racing, driving a HR Holden in group N. Might be worth asking him what happened to the old beast! It was quite a sight in Peters hands!
