Soooooooo.... are you keeping up to date with the DTM series and regulations? Not only are they explanding to AMerica but they are also merging with Japanese Super GT which means they expand to Asia as well!

How do you know that they aren't going to do well. Maybe they will maybe they won't but we don't know that. Are you working in the development team? If not you probably shouldn't make such an assertion

What do you call the corvette then. That car doesnt even use the same engine as the roadcar. The BMW keeps the 4.0litre V8. Sure the BMW gets alot of waivers but look where it comes from. Its a mass produced roadcar. Its not a racecar otherwise we'd have alot of people thinking they were race drivers on the American Highways and lots of accidents. The 911 GT2 comes from the 911GT3 Rs which is basically a not mass produced roadgoing race car. The es 458 was built knowing that there would be a GT2 race car itreation so they basically built a racecar and needed no waivers to turn it into a GT2 car. The sales of 911's and 458's pale's in comparison to the sale of 3 series/M3 BMW's. I can pick up an M3 for 50,000. Can't say that about a 911GT3 or a 458. Im very glad that none of you guys work for the ACO otherwise there would be no manufacturers or sponsors anywhere. |

Yeah right...... BMW can come back any time they like - with a sportscar. Sales are meaningless - I'm not talking about how many cars are sold - couldn't give a fig about that..... But, don't take my wind-up too personally, my dislike of the M3 at Le Mans is many, many years old now and most of the long-standing members know that I raise my prejudices periodically, just for fun.......... |

I think the assumption is based on every other program BMW has done recently.

I once knew a fellow who had a stuttering problem, he had a wicked sense of humour, due to Im sure dealing with his issue throughout his life. His comebacks and wordplay were quite impressive.

1.They dominated World touring car. 2.They've won manufacturer title in GT2. 3.They won in F1 as as engine supplier and in early 2000's and and won as a team outright after only 3 years. 4. Heck they even won the 24 of Lemans outright in 1999! Last edited by Audi Racer; 15 Jun 2011 at 20:55. |

Not talking about that, it refers to why they wont be in DTM for very long though. Now that they have left WTCC as a factory team, please remind me the longest BMW has stayed in a particular program (including the move from Williams for Sauber) over the last decade or two? P.S. Please answer my other question. Im really worried that Super GT will become as boring as Dull Tedious Mudane. Last edited by FordCosworthPanoz; 15 Jun 2011 at 22:32. |
