Glickenhaus performed a brake change at the end of FP2. It was quite fast too, about a minute or so.

Niceee, awesome to hear they're able to do it so quickly. Knowing the Toyotas have more potential failure points than Glick does, reliability could play a pretty big factor in the race.

Just another one of those wrinkles that's going to make this race so interesting! I'm also pretty mad that I found out I have to work during the start of the race so we'll probably miss the first hour and a half or so

Fastest Lap Times
Looking at the evolution of times.
FP1 compared to Test Day, Q compared to FP1 and FP2 compared to FP1. Sorted in the order of Q. FP1 was a lot quicker than Test by an average of 2.0s. Not as much as Hypercar, but for most GT and LMP2. Of course, the fastest LMP2 in the test IDEC not as much of an improvement. People tried in Q, gaining on average 2.1s over FP1. FP2 was slow compared to FP1 (-1.7s). A few cars were quicker in FP2 than the FP1. Including #8 and #708.

That's outrageous. Call a sicky. I hear there is something going around at the moment.

Stint Lengths
Not many long stints today.
Toyota #7 did an 11 lap stint. Toyota #8 did a 10 laps stint. Glickenhaus #709 did a 7 lap stint. #708 and the Alpine's longest stint today was 6 laps. So no one trying for long stints today. Might have got all the data they need from that at the test? Quite a few 11 lap stints in LMP2. None that are longer. The odd long stint from GT. A couple of 14 laps in GTE-Pro. A couple of 12, a 13 and a 15 in GTE-Am. The #57 Ferrari did the 15, but it included a few slow laps. |

Top Speeds
Top speeds. 1km/h down on test day:
http://fiawec.alkamelsystems.com/Res...actice%202.PDF Waethertech were worried about their top speed at the test day. They were 3.2km/h down on the works Porsche's and were 6th fastest top speed in the class. Today they were 2nd fastest and 1.7km/h down. Interesting the works Porsche was fastest and slowest with 4.2km/h between them. Generally this class was a lot quicker than Test, fastest improving from 298.8 to 303km/h. Got a good tow? |

Have farmer's markets both Sat and Sunday mornings so there may be a radio in the canopy or a headphone being used

Stint lengths
In the practice roundup on DSC I’ve just seen that LMP2 #24 ran out of fuel before the Porsche Curves.
https://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107659 I checked the timing and it looked like it was on its 12th lap. |

Yesterday, the general atmosphere on the circuit was so quite...
There are boutiques (Gant, Spark, ACO, Alpine...) and restaurants. Public areas are noiseless, without sounds of concerts, fun fair. No tents and terraces anymore in the main street of Arnage... No traffic jam around the circuit. Few peoples on mounds, campsites are empty. Further, the night falls early at end of august (and the sky is sooo grey...). So, it was like Le Mans, but a little spooky. Sadly, I think we will have to get used to this new atmosphere for years to come... |

I usually don't care too much about GTE at le mans, but damn! 3.46.0 is crazy!
1.5s faster than 2018 pole which was already faster than pre2010 GT1 record. 3.46 is close to pre2017 lmp2 race pace |

What was the initial targetted laptimes for Hypercar at Lemans by the ACO? Was it 3:25?

3:30 race lap time average was what the ACO were aiming for.
When you factor in traffic, it makes sense that one-lap pace is 3-4 seconds quicker. |

a vague 3.30 on race pace, which means everything and nothing considering also 2008-2009 audi-peugeot were in 3.30 race pace despite able to qualify in 3.18-3.22. True main aim of hypercar rules is to avoid the costs escalation that let porsche and audi run away 4-5 years ago. Need to wait and see how fast toyota will be able to run in hyperpole, but more or less, performancewise LMH are on 2011-2012 lmp1 levels, just uglier and much more expensive. |

I remember around 2011 was a laptime difference between Peugeot 908 and Ferrari GTE around 35-40 seconds per lap, and now it is around 20 seconds! it is a big difference. |

Interesting to see - and tbh I was quite shocked - that the top speeds still stand from the Test day, the 331,8 kph!
This figure couldn t be topped even in qualifying, which saw the Toyotas lap 3 sec faster than at the Test day. |

If the were playing games then they have gone too early. The can still make changes. Quote:
There is still enough differentiate to be proper multi class racing. There will be less having to lap other cars, but it will be a little more of a challenge to do. |
