This definitely doesn't feel as special when there's no chance of a late night Banzai run on the cards.

I guess it's the trade-off for what I thought was an excellent 'Q1' qualifying session.

Ferrari #51 was called into the weigh bridge and the WEC officials were taking close up photos on their mobile phones of something on the left front bodywork of the car?

They did the same on the Porsche #5 but this time they took a photo inside one of the intakes on the front bodywork?

I know they don't have many cameras out on circuit now, but we're seeing a lot of pit shots rather than onboards. So it's not actually very interesting to watch...

What a dissapointment Peugeot is. In FP1 it looked like they finally picked up some pace. They got some BOP after all. But now back to normal. Sad.

Ferrari quickest, no surprise, I thought they may be even quicker compared to others. But then, who needs a bad BOP, right?

All i all it looks like we are in for sth truly Epic.

I had to shut off RLM for a bit. Nice to hear Jim Roller on the Motortrend coverage. And I think that's Graham Goodwin, too. Not a horrible alternative to RLM.

Yea Wednesday night first qual session now the serious stuff begins feel has gone. It's absolutely killed the final Thursday night session.

On another point yea the onboard cameras have been a bit sparse this year.

Agreed! I hope they get it sorted. It's the best thing to show during night, or it's mostly headlights.

I didn't hear a number but was several kph slower than the GTE cars. It's heavily drag limited in this spec. It gets up to terminal velocity in a hurry though.

Constantly hitting 314 kph. In the short onboard that was shown, he was able to get almost 300 between first and second chicane, and LMP2 that was trailing him in Tertre Rouge was only able to overtake when braking for first chicane, so apparently he's got some speed

Idk I think I might be looking pretty good. both of my picks are fighting for the top spot. and both clocked a top speed of over 342. what is very interesting is that both the toyota number 7 and the ferrari did a 3:25 at a top speed of 337km in quali but during the first practice they both did 3:28 at a top speed of 343 km

I'm spot on with the top speed at the moment and am current lobbying the organizers to tweak the rules to change the cut off to Wednesday.

I suspect it might improve a notch. Although in the remain competitive session (hyperpole) there is less chance of slipstreaming.

I've gone for average of Top 10, 20 and 40 lap, along with the fastest comparisons. By 40 it might not be fair for some who had problems and they didn't get 40 representative laps in today.

Also QP was interesting for GTE. It was quite late before anyone set a representative time. There was a fun moment on RLM when they were reading out the order and then realised in GTE the fastest lap was 7 minutes or something. A fun moment.

The ranking in the table is Top 10.

The big thing of the day is that there is no Porsche in Hyperpole. It was a disaster session for Porsche, but look at the average Top 10 times in the whole day and there are three Porsche in the Top 10, but no Aston!

I think that is a more realistic view come race day. Ferrari - Corvette - Porsche - Aston.
Although Corvette is hard to judge with one car, I just assume it will be good based on previous races (and now lack of success ballast).

It is clear there were going to be some disappointed teams not in Hypercar. I'll highlight United, but their race pace looks like it will be good. They'll be mainly hoping that they don't have a first lap like last year.
