Trophée d'Auverne (Clermont Ferrand) MN 24 Jun 1971 p14.

"Ed Swart and John Burton are now team-mates under the Canon Cameras banner, Burton having switched his allegiance from WRA just before the event".

E. Red Rose Racing: John Hine (wrecked in the race)
F. Red Rose Racing: John Bridges
G. Canon Cameras: John Burton
I. Canon Cameras: Ed Swart

A story in Track Topics the week later explains that Burton's car is privately owned and is now receiving financial assistance from Canon.

Hockenheim 4 July - Round 4. Tell me if you're getting bored MN 8 Jul 1971 p6

A. Chevron Cars: Chris Craft
C. DART Racing with Castrol: Birrell (Miles' usual car)
D. DART Racing with Castrol: Miles (first ever appearance of 2-litre alloy-block Hart BDA)

Bamford was at Vila Real instead (p19)

And on the same day Facetti won at Trento Bondone in Tondelli's B19 (p18)

driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
be aware that Central Garage did have 2 b19 cars -sold early car and bought another car in 72

Humble did own the B16S spyder car it was crashed and cut up- suspension sold off to build smith/welpton car and a new B19 car in kit form was ordered and the engine gearbox from B16S was kept as spares for the programme

the eris tondelli b19 was often entered as a Tondelli and did scored c/ship point in euro 2 litre series costing chevron the makers cup i believe

Has MN printed any chassis numbers yet?

anyone want to buy chevron chassi plate 4 quid on ebay

I want to be very, very, very precise about this so you'll need to tell me your source for believing 'E' was chassis 8.

Allen, thanks for all of this. Just maybe for clarification, are you 100% certain that each capital letter you are using, represents a different car and when one particular letter is used, it is always the same car?

Montlhery 17 Oct 1971 (MN 21 Oct 1971 p22).

F. Red Rose Racing: 'not a runner'
G. Red Rose Racing: John Burton/Bob Wollek (entered by RRR due to 'entry bothers')
H. Worcestershire Racing Association: John Bamford/Peter Creasy
J. Central Garage (Mirfield) : John Lepp/Terry Croker
O. Red Rose Racing: Jean-Pierre Jaussaud/John Bridges (Hine stepped as Bridges' car not a runner)
U: Dupont: Jacques 'Dupony'/Pierre Bobin (called 'the Dupont example' implying I should have spotted it before).

Meanwhile at Mondello Park (MN 21 Oct 1971 p24) Eddie Regan won two races in his ex-DART B19-FVA.

Something more precise on the subject of the DART cars: at a sprint at Suilverstone 30 Oct 1971 (MN 4 Nov 1971 p5) Frank Aston's car is described as "the BDA-powered ex-Miles DART Chevron B19". It was listed as a 2-litre in the results.

So to continue my lettering system:

C. DART 1971 (newer car) -> Eddie Regan (Ireland) late 1971
D. DART 1971 (BDA car) -> Frank Aston late 1971

I am relating what MN says and attempting to show how many separate cars are described. Of course I can't be 100% certain.
