I've said before that the Champ Car system is the easiest I've come across. Two stationary yellow flags end to end can be held easily by a single flag marshal and do the trick very well. To the driver it looks like one big yellow flag. Backed up with flashing yellow lights where they exist the field is controlled quickly ready for the safety car to be released once the leader arrives at a steady pace at the line.
