Allowing GT300 cars next to GTC / GT3 cars is awesome. And I'm very happy that the ACO and GTA are cooperating.
Exactly, it's a reasonable system. |

Wow! The 6 Hours of Fuji will score points to the Super GT300 championship. That will help to fill the grid. Awesome!

I don't like how when Autosport reported on this GT300 in GTC thing, every car in the picture alongside was a GT500.

GT300 is kinda meh now that they've somehat ruined the class, now joining GT500 would've been something actually exciting and exotic. ACO could've temporarily renamed it GT1 or something... |

Maybe they should have made Interlagos a round of the GT Brasil series while they were at it.

GT500s are faster than DTM and just as fast or faster than LMP2s. If they added that class to LM, who knows where it'd fit. They already carry ballast to reach 1100kg, they'd have to add even more to get to GTE levels (~1245kg) They'd be better off in a new class or just leave it to their own series. GT300's are about the same in weight, but not as powerful or developed aerodynamically. Why GTC though, and why force them to buy a current GTE? Just accept them as they are and let them try their hand with some equalization.

Actually, this year there are two Brazilian grand touring championships, since some teams defected the GT Brasil and formed the Top Series. They have television coverage on Band, so they joined IndyCar at the Anhembi street race. Some of the drivers are Xandy and Xandinho Negrao, Daniel Serra and Max Wilson. Plus, they do 3-hour races rather than sprints like in the GT Brasil.

Prediction: The Fuji round will be amazing thanks to GT300, everything else will suck.

The calendar of the first Asian Le Mans Series in 2013 will consist of six events in four countries including South Korea with a race at the brand-new Autopia circuit.

Not Yeongnam, eh? A Korean team will field a GT300 Genesis Coupe in Super GT next year, and the AsLMS allowing GT300 cars... Where is this Autopia circuit, lemme google that one.

Actually it is on the same weekend of Super Formula (FN) Sugo race too.Which is even more serious IMO. http://as-web.jp/news/info.php?c_id=4&no=42780 |

AsLMS not likely to join WEC judging by this quote from Gerard Neveu in DSC interview:

As best as I can tell, it's the Injae circuit designed by Alan Wilson. So far though, I've found precious little information about it.

Dagys posted an article, 2.61 miles, lots of elevation changes. Builders claim its an "Asian Road Atlanta".

Inje? Another senseless choice made by ACO.

Well, it doesn't look like a straight, conventional Alan Wilson design. For starters, there is actually an infield, as the paddock and pit lane are inside the track perimeter. The track seems to be more open in layout than quite a few of his others as well.
Here's one piece on the track, but someone else will have to translate the Korean symbols. http://blog.naver.com/PostView.nhn?b...No=40143395549 Here's an earlier press release about the track. http://a1gp1.com/2009/04/15/a1gp-korea-race-soon/ Obviously, there was a delay of a couple of years somewhere in the interim, since it didn't open in 2011. This is the Dagys article from Speed. http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/artic...-korean-round/ From that photo, the facilities look well on their way. |
