Sadly the Lotus Evora isn't racing this weekend and Villios, Paul White Aston Martins have been having mechanical problems.

Montermini in the Scuderia Villorba Ferrari is on pole, Manthey second and then, Bruni, Peter, Villios and Ramos for race 1.

In GTS Rugolo in the AF Corse Ferrari is on pole, Archie Hamilton second for Autorlando.

There is a live stream here. http://www.live.gtopen.net/

Wet at the moment but stopped raining.

Anyone know the spec of Villios Aston?

Grid is down to 16/17 now, for some reason the Kinfaun Vantage GT3 and the Paul White Vantage GT2 didn't take the start. (both qualified)

Track is very slippery.

Wish it was easier to find news about the series.

didn't realise there were two Corvettes racing. Looks great in the Vodafone livery.

I assume everyone else is having the same problems with the feed? Discolouring and cutting out.

Yeah, the stream keeps cutting out . I think Motors TV should use the GT Open stream commentary, its so much better than Simon Hill seemingly following the race via a timing screen.

Track is very wet now, British weather is fantastic isn't it?

So Kessel racing won the race with their Ferrari 458 driven by Patrick Peter & Michal Broniszewski, Second was Manthey who would have won without the Pit stop penalty, Third was Bruni & Leo.

Archie Hamilton won GTS for Autorlando.

Was a fairly entertaining race but the track looked very empty car wise.

It was pretty good fun wasn't it? You can get away with having a smaller grid when the cars sound as good as that Aston! I'm not 100% sure but I think one of the Astons binned it in the second qualifying session and it wasn't ready for the race. Good stuff though, the mixed conditions spiced things up too, must have been a nightmare for the drivers, every time it looked as though a dry line was starting to appear and slicks were almost feasible the heavens opened again. Shame I can't make it back for tomorrow.

A couple of them span on out laps yesterday too (at least one Ferrari and an Aston at Druids for a start). I think cold tyres + slippy track were the problem - might have been slicks on a damp circuit too (not sure about that though).

that was the no70 car, it spun to the inside of the track after sheene and must have wacked the barrier quite hard because they made a temporary repair to the barrier and closed the spectator area immediately behind that section of arncoe, i didnt actually see the accident but the car didnt look that damaged, must have been worse that it looked

i only saw the saturday race but found it very enjoyable really liking GT Racing this year, the rumble noise from the corvettes was brilliant

i think they need to make more of an effort to make the numerous red ferrari 458's in the GTS class easier to tell apart, i had a job identifying which was which even when looking at my static photos, for the marshals it must have been a 'mare, they need more visible numbers, one of them had 58 AND 88 on each side, which is a bit confusing to say the least

can someone explain the difference between the two classes to me, e.g. Super GT and GTS, there were the same model of car in each class?!

my photos from saturday are here

SuperGT is what would be GTE class cars in ACO racing, GTS are GT3 Spec cars, although saying that im confused myself as to why the Villois Aston is in SuperGT considering they are using the V12 Vantage GT3 now.

Villoi's Aston SGT is a GTE chassis modified to fit the v12 engine !
If you take a closer look you could also see the older fuel spots on the back which have been covered has they have also moved the fuel tank for a more porformant weight balance!
They sad that they prefered to mount the front and back bumbers of the gt3 to be sure they had more air to cool down the engine and brakes (front) and the rear bumber for the exit of the oil radiator which is placed on the same position as the older GTE

Beside that wing, wing position and flat estractors flat floor are from the GTE and they got no ABS

Either way the BoP on that thing was so far off kilter at Brands Hatch it wasn't funny.

Well car was in line with manthey porsche ( wich stops on the pitlane for fire) and more important Villorba Ferrari has been hit by Pilet Porsche on the warm up and had the car unbalanced and AF corse 458 Gt2 was strugling with diff problems!!!

Remeber that in 2010 Villois also won in Brands Hatch with the vantage GT2 is like home for Astons...

The Return of Bentley?

Anyone notice announcement this past weekend by the team principal of Nigeria Racing Eagles that they will switch from Audi to Bentley for 2014? Not sure exactly which GT series...no official announcement from Bentley itself that I am aware of.

The Paul Ricard event sees both one of the Drivex Porsches back, a Mosler and Reiter have entered a Lambourghini in GTS.

The 2 Corvettes were fast in practice as were the GTS Porsches. Interesting that the gap in both practice sessions between the Super GT and GTS fastest car was only 8 tenths of a second.

Porsche looks quite nice with the low downforce front end. Manthey will start p4 for race 1.
