From Ouest-France : Christophe Tinseau says that he was in "for nothing" (for free)... as much of the pilots are, not talking about the paying ones... only the best teams can afford a wage for the pilot (he mentions 1MF for the Toyota and Mercedes drivers in 1999).
But drive for free was not enough to get the car on the track ; Yves Courage says that he was desesperated to fire his pilots, but he really needed some cash to race... |

I guess this ACO entrylist is the final list. No more changes to be expected or faults in it?

Apart from the fact that Rob Wilson seems to be driving the Cirtek Ferrari twice, I guess so........

Well, picky, picky, picky, its Werner Lupberger...... I see you still have Neugarten in the Perrier Porsche. The ACO now have Smith. I'm now presuming the ACO is right. |

I think the #31 Courage isn't running the JPX engine, they switched to a 2liter turbo - probably AER.

Thanks a lot, everyone!
I revise a list, and add #10,22,31,35,70,75,80 icons on list, and redraw some icons. http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-...ent04final.htm |

I heard Yves Courage on France Info radio. He said "sunday morning I felt like having one knee down, I didn't want to have the two knees down ; so my team work a lot on the chassis to change the fixing points of the engine in order to put the AER. Two welders of the team Goh helped us".
A good example of mutual aid. |

He explained the red color too : "never forget that this year has been different from all the other ones" (he lost his wife)...

Here is my last "Parting Shot" on the Entry List for 2004:
I would bet my Annual Salary ( and I get paid fairly well) on the following: AutoCon would have qualified faster than the: Taurus Lola-CAT (Diesel) Noel Del Bello Reynard Lehmann Panoz LMP1 (beat them soundly at Sebring...would have done so here as well) and I'd even be willing to bet $100 that they would have qualified faster than the: Taurus Lola-Judd (a disappointing 3:50) Intersport Lola B160 (also a disappointing 3:48) I would even put $10 on them for being in the "Top 15" (Although I was glad to see the Lister make a good run with the 3:43, and Nasamax with their qualifying effort this year...wel-done to both!) Now...I PROMISE I will leave the entire "AutoCon Not Invited" issue ALONE!!!! |

Funny... the boys at the shop were saying essentially the same thing, and are already planning for next years revenge!! They are definitely wanting to get back into action and are disappointed about missing the next 2-3 races. Thanks for the support...

Something tells me that the boys in the Creation Zytek shops were having the same type of conversations as you were hearing in AutoCon's garage... |
