Fine sportsmanship from Webber and Ullrich to get down to the Toyota garages for commiserations.
Toyota had the best car for 23 hours and 55 minutes. But that's not Le Mans, and as much as I would like it to be, it's not enough to win. |

I wonder if Kaz bumped a switch? I wonder if we will ever know the truth. Toyota did Nothing wrong ... they had the race won. Their pace, their strategy, everything was done right ... Fae struck.
Toyota management shouldn't look at the last three minutes but at the 23 hours and 57 minutes before ... Toyota didn't lose, they got screwed by fate. The program was entirely correct ... racing is racing. |

The best car doesn't always win. But Toyota got rolled snake eyes again.

Wow... this is Le Mans...
Do feel gutted for the guys, but it is not so much bad luck as it is the timing... if it had happened 30 minutes earlier, it would essentially be the same thing, but not quite as dramatic. Good job by the #2 Porsche crew. They kept it close despite more stops and kept in position to take advantage of something like this, which is part of endurance racing. |

Yeah, they fought hard all race, even though I think their strategy was messy. Some bad luck here and there with SCs and punctures. This happening in the last 5 mins was a shocker indeed, but many people had said reliability will win this race and it turned out to be very true. All other cars had serious issues except the #2, and the #5 until the final few laps. |

I really hope that nothing changes as far as Toyota's plans. If they leave the WEC, I feel that Audi and Porsche might not be far behind if they get bored of racing each other.

Everything worked out for them, fastest car, most consistent, the random luck you need during the race(right place at safety car periods and slow zones), stayed out of trouble, no contact, only an unscheduled stop for a puncture early on and then 5 minutes from the end all goes to bits

Not to drive the (sore) point home, but the #8 crossed the finish line 3rd.
Lucky? Undoubtedly, to absurd degrees. But you've got to be in it to win it, up to the very end. I would not be surprised if he took a break after this. To happen twice, from commanding positions as well? |

5 years now and no win...if I were Toyota I'd swallow my pride and leave. You cannot have any worse luck than losing with three minutes left. Would not be shocked if they leave

Is it TOO early to start making plans for the 23 hour and 45 minutes of LM next year ?
Certainly ACO/FIA need to consider SOME INEPT rule calls |

As pointed out by RLM, Peugeot also broke this rule and got away with it. But hey, French.

Worried what this will do for toyotas future, I know they've supposedly committed for the next couple of years but I can see them pulling the plug

There are no words for what has just taken place. It's so bad as a Toyota fan to see certain victory denied
