Seems as though you can file the Panoz Delta Wing/EPP as confirmed for Sebring now, in the LMP1 category.

Part of me loves the DeltaWing news, and part of me hates it. It's a fun concept and something new to follow, but as many before me have pointed out, putting it in a class is just messy.
I'll take it, anyway. I'm glad the DW is out there and if it has to be something, I'd rather it be a P1 than a P2. Another dimension to Sebring this year. |

"Based off of the 2.0-liter Mazda MZR engine found in the Van Diemen Elan USF2000 chassis, the new mill is slightly smaller at 1.9 liters, and adds both direct fuel-injection and a twin turbo system to double the 4-cylinder, twin-cam’s output. Rated at 170hp in the USF2000 car, the DeltaWing unit, which replaces the 1.6-liter RML-designed Nissan engine that propelled the car in 2012, is currently achieving 345hp on the dyno, with 350 lf-ft. of torque at 6500rpms. That's an increase of almost 50hp over the Nissan, further improving the car's power-to-weight ratio." |

So the compromise is: it was designed outside of the rules, but it can run in a class...it just has to run in a class where it really needs to work some magic to compete. It gets to run, it gets to run classified, but it doesn't have to **** the other teams off as much. Also, it is supposed to be more efficient, which can compensate for the pace. On reliability alone, the DeltaWing, despite starting last, would have been second in the LMP1 class at Petit Le Mans as run. So... |

Not sure if it's time for a race thread yet, the first test session is under way, and live timing is up and running.

Endurance-info also shows this pic on the ALMS Winter Test update. Clearly, a LMPC in Muscle Milk colors can be seen behind the HPD. Is this a pic from last year or a recent one?
Edit: last years... Last edited by Coach Ep; 7 Feb 2013 at 16:34. |

Muscle Milk a 1:47.414
A tenth of a second faster than their qualifying time last year! Flying Lizards faster than last year's GTC pole. |

I don't have the link with me, but Alex job racing and west racing will partner up for a Ferrari 458 for GT to debut at Sebring.

Yeah, think they and the Lizards might be racing each other most of the time. But it's good to see a team coming back to the series especially in this last season.

If the same team/driver/tire combo on the Lotus was consistently 3-4 seconds up on GTC last year, what makes you think the Ferrari will be even slower?
