GT2 Corvette Z06 - Markland Racing
"Directly after the last race of the season, in Brasil, the car will undergo some signifficant changes. The engines will be send to USA, with various plans. Now, when the team seems to have solved the problems with realibillity, we aim for more power - app. 50 BHP. The engines displacement are at the moment 7.0 litres. With regards to the weight we are looking to do some changes, but within the regulations we have to focus on the huge torque and the width of the rear tyres. Yes, we are running on AP brakes." - message from late October A GT2 car with a 7.0 liter engine must weight at least 1,225 kilos. They used Dunlop tires this year. http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/3...e-Z06-GT2.html http://www.markland-racing.eu/ |

According to www.sportmotores.es LMS will travel to Shanghai (China) in 2008. The deal is to be closed in the next few weeks. China has been always a target for Patrick Peter, of course the race there would turn the things very difficult for 1000 Milhas Brasileiras.

Audi has the lion's share of the market in the top-end in China, Peugeot/Citroen fight the mid-range mostly with VW... interesting market to showcase both brands.

According to DSC the whole schedule could be switched around to avoid ALMS/DTM conflicts, with Peugeot and Audi working with the organisors.
It's even been mentioned Spa may need to be dropped to fit everything in at short notice, though I hope a place will be found. |

While the calendar to start with did have some glaring shortcomings, mucking about with it isn't ideal. Dropping Spa would be an absolute catastrophe - it's attracted reasonable crowds, it's been a constant in the calendar, and is a fantastic track.
Will be very very disappointed if this comes to pass... |

They don't want to, I assume it may be dropped if earlier events need this or similar dates.
I'd be 90% confident a place will be found for Spa, like the year they had the pit works. |

For the very first time since the inception of the series, Reinhold Joest’s team will represent Audi Sport in the Le Mans Series.
Why did you finally make that decision to enter and support the european championship ? « We plan to enter the the Le Mans Series but we have no final decision yet. Some homework has yet to be done by the organisers, especially regarding a good TV marketing and the race calender. The reason to enter the European series is simple: it gives us the possibility to showcase the Audi R10 TDI and its technology in Europe in important markets for Audi. » Are you hoping that the duel with Peugeot may raise up significantly the media’s interest ? « Yes, for sure. If we enter the series we will do proper marketing and PR work. But many things will depend on the TV contracts of the series. » http://www.endurance-info.com/articl...d=4549&thold=0 |

Well Audi, you need a good TV platform in order to join do you? Exactly how much were you planning on spending for advertising in these shows? That much, well I think we can accomodate you quite well.

in other businesses it is called outsourcing (LMS outsources their mktg to Audi...)
I only will look at the results and if those are a great championship, more populated stands and good TV coverage I'll be very happy. |

There's going to be a big Zytek presence next year.......
Reading the report on DSC's visit to Repton, five customers confirmed (I'm assuming Embassy, Barazi, BTP, Binnie and Arena) and another very possible. |

With BTP you mean Trading Performance racing?
So 3 Zytek cars (1 LMP2 + 2 LMP2) and 3 cars running the engine (2 Embassy + 1 Lola). |

John Manchester actually went a bit further with his optimism saying that he'd be disappointed if they didn't pick up another two or even three customers, such is the level of interest. "The sportscar market really seems to be taking off." |
