cos should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
From a grandprix.com article concerning Alex Wurz and Williams F1...

Quote:
We hear, incidentally, that Ryan Briscoe also popped up in the negotiations at Williams… For the time being, however, Ryan is still looking for a job in America. He recently tested for the PKV Racing Champ Car team at Sebring… PKV has yet to decide what to do about drivers in 2006 with neither Jimmy Vasser nor Cristiano da Matta confirmed. PKV has tested Ryan Dalziel, Giorgio Pantano, Briscoe and Katherine Legge in recent weeks and the fact that Briscoe popped up in the Williams equation suggests that PKV may have made a decision.

Our feeling is that PKV team boss Kevin Kalkhoven may ultimately conclude that Legge is the best investment… It could be that the war between Champ Car and IRL will be fought out by the female stars in 2006.

Well if PKV has the money... Heck why not four cars: Da Matta, Vasser, Briscoe, Legge... That four times the data for one team why not??

Reports out of Australia have Marcus Marshall arranging tests with HVM and possibly Dale Coyne in upcoming weeks.

Sorry but I must say that Marcus Marcshall, in my mind, was given his chance last year and did not live up to expectations.

Dominguez's first year with HVM was a stinker. His second was much much better, so perhaps Marshall will show the same improvement.

The difference was that he had some outings which showed potential. There are many more drivers out there that have more potential. Sorry but unless he buy's his drive then I don't see how he can make it to the big leagues again.

Another example is Nelson Phillipe. Awful in 04 but improved and showed his right to be on the grid in 06.

Marshall obviously wasnt ready for CC in 05 coming straight from F3, but maybe if he can get a ride with HVM or Coyne for 06 he might show something.

The difference is that Philippe showed improvement over the 2004 season. Towards the end of 2004 he had some okay races. I didn't notice any improvement from Marshall in 2005.

Autosport is reporting that Team Australia is considering expanding the team to 3 cars to run Tagliani, Power & Briscoe. If they do choose to do this then I think that Ryan will be a valuable asset to the team. Would also be good to see Team Australia expand to 3 cars for a whole season with 3 good drivers.

So me that would be a real good step in the right direction. A logical step. This would leave PKV still with an abundance of good drivers to choose from. But please let Legge alone for 1 year.

Not sure that Team Australia is Ryan's first choice. But it might not be a bad fallback plan.

I have to admit - doesn't feel great that thie year we're talking about who is going to be in what car, rather than are there going to be enough cars to make a series this year?

My how fortunes have changed!

Team Ausi outperformed expectations through much of last, I would expect them to improve further. With Tag and Briscoe together they could be a regular front challanger, although perhaps not a serious threat to win on a regular basis. That's not to take anything away from Power, that kid has talent.

Yeah Briscoe, Tags and Power all in the same equipment would be a tantalising proposition.

Bas Leinders is targeting a drive in Champ Car, with backing from GoldenPalace.com -

most of it is pure speculation and depending on the thoughts that three teams are expanding to a three car team... but the list looks not that bad...

Newman/Haas: Sébastien Bourdais, Bruno Junqueira, Oriol Servia?
Forsythe: Paul Tracy, Mario Dominguez, Timo Glock?, Patrick Carpentier?
RuSPORT: Justin Wilson, A.J. Allmendinger
PKV: Jimmy Vasser, Katherine Legge?, Giorgio Pantano?, Cristiano DaMatta?, Ryan Dalziel?, Timo Glock?, Darren Manning?
Conquest: Nelson Philippe, Andrew Ranger?
Team Australia: Alex Tagliani, Will Power, Ryan Briscoe
HVM: Ronnie Bremer, Rodolfo Lavin?
Rocketsports: Michael McDowell?, Franck Montagny?
Dale Coyne: Ricardo Sperafico, ...?

??? ... looking for a seat/available: Patrick Carpentier, Cristiano DaMatta, Björn Wirdheim, Oriol Servia, Timo Glock, Richard Lyons, Andrew Ranger, Michael Valiante, Antonio Pizzonia, Bas Leinders, Darren Manning, Franck Montagny, Ryan Dalziel, Rodolfo Lavin, Giorgio Pantano...

Will Power is confirmed in the #5 Team Australia car. Bit of a dark horse for 06 aswell.

In an Australian publication, credibility is questionable but its discussion never the less has written that NHR is now looking and all but finished finalising a deal to run Chris Da Matta in 06 ?

Odd thinking Servia and a cashed up Glock would be more in line ?

If any of this comes to any fruition Glock could be pushing his way into the Forsythe stable.

I'd love to see Glock in a very competative ride like Forsythe. IMO he is the best new driver to come along in a few years.
