Endurance-Info is now reporting that the #60 IronLynx Ferrari will also make the race.
https://www.endurance-info.com/fr/le...uveau-forfait/ That means yet another withdrawal. We still don't know who will withdraw to allow the #27 DragonSpeed Oreca in |

That's strange. So they think they know of two more cars that have made it, but haven't identified who's dropped out.....?

It's not going to come as much of a surprise but DSC report that Rick Ware Racing are out of LM this year. So that's one of the mystery withdrawals revealed: http://www.dailysportscar.com/2020/0...ithdrawal.html

DSC are reporting 'at least 4' entries dropping out, plus some reserve entries not stepping up to fill the gaps.

To be expected i think, not sure what the final grid will be but i think it unlikely to be a full 62 car line up this year

I have to say I'm a bit nervous about what the list might reveal, or to put it another way, I'll be very relieved to see the word 'Ginetta' still on the list. They didn't attend the recent Toyota organised test with Rebellion and Bykolles, and Lawrence Tomlinson's relationship with the ACO is at an all time low. I just hope he hasn't decided to put his toys back in their boxes and put them back on the shelf. Anyway, I better stop creating unfounded rumours... |

Even if four cars drop out, it's not the end of the world. We will still have a major entry to make the event a success. However if it's any of the major names, that would be a massive shame

There must surely also be plenty of driver changes to come, with travel restrictions and lack of sponsorship due to impact of 'Villages' on VIP/hospitality/etc.

"Hospitality" might have a different meaning this year, will each village having a dedicated hospital allocated to it, speaking from experience i hope the red village gets Alencon. Not sure there will be any Hospitality allowed as allocation those people a square of grass and asking them to put up a tent might not go down well.

What we will probably (hopefully) see is a marked absence of the 'pretty people', the hangers-on who litter the main straight before the start and quaff champers in the units above the pits and the various other hospitality areas. I would be amazed if the ACO hasn't seriously limited the number of passes given out to the teams (and manufacturers) this year. Long gone are the days of the 'Audi hotel' with literally thousands of guests....

If it drops below 62 they should open a supplementary entry submit progress, with deadline at the end of this month or in the middle of August. It's not like it's too late, some years ago Krohn went to the race just mere days after being accepted
If I was Ginetta I too would have withdrawn after having thrown out from the stupid LMP2 spec regs yet again, and LMP1 cars being outlawed after just 2 ridiculous seasons of the 'revised' 2018 nonhybrid regulations (I don't count the theoretical 2021-neutered-P1-specs against bopped hypercars as proper season) |

Yes but if you withdraw from all racing all your investment is wasted and sponsors who have already paid will want there cash back, teams will have to consider finances before they make any choices

So far, they have only withdrawn 1 car. -- Sadly, the 2nd HighClass Racing car has also been withdrawn. Is that the Magnussen car? |

There goes the Riley... so it's 19 spec Orecas, 3 Oaks, 2 Dallaras... what a sad LMP2 list... but the funny thing is most of the cars are running Michelin, which for next year will be outlawed to make room for spec Dunlop-Goodyears most people haven't chosen lol
Oreca now makes 35% of the grid (plus Toyotas are Oreca-assisted) and Ferrari 26% Last edited by Deleted; 17 Jul 2020 at 13:07. |
