Robby Gordon of late on a road course has been poo - probably ever since he punted Ambrose of in Montreal... Same can be said of Boris! Time for a new generation of American road course specialists, not those old has beens...
I did like Robby tho when he drove Carl Hogans IndyCar in the early 90's - exciting stuff it was!

Gordon has some of the worst cars of anyone in NASCAR. He ran just fine at Montréal in 2011 before he stupidly took himself out. I think Robby can still get it done at Sonoma or Watkins Glen, but I guess it doesn't matter because he didn't get the one opportunity he could have had (the Penske 22 for the Glen last year) and his focus is elsewhere.

But I agree on Boris. He was never good enough to be a Cup ringer and I have no idea why teams keep hiring him.

The next generation of road course guys? The same as the next generation of oval guys. You have to be a complete driver now.

I love it when people on forums and Twitter figure something out before the media does.

Of course, we all should have known back in January when the flirting and the "my friend Ricky" started.

And now it's official:

Quote:
Danica and Stenhouse Jr. are dating: #10-Danica Patrick revealed to The Associated Press she and #17-Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are a couple, ending widespread speculation about the nature of their relationship. "I have a boyfriend, his name is Richard," she said during an exclusive telephone interview with AP. The couple waited until the end of Charlotte Motor Speedway's weeklong annual media tour to go public with their relationship, which started as a friendship as they raced each other the last two seasons in the Nationwide Series. Stenhouse became a mentor of sorts to the 30-year-old Patrick, who left IndyCar after the 2011 season to make the full-time switch to NASCAR. Stenhouse, 25, confirmed the relationship. "Yes we are dating," he said. "I don't normally say too much about my private life, always been focused on the track. I didn't want to confirm at media day so that we could keep the focus on the season, the Gen-6 (car), my sponsors and team. That's what it's all about for me." Patrick announced in November she and husband Paul Hospenthal were divorcing after seven years, and said in the Jan. 3 filing that her marriage to the 47-year-old Hospenthal was "irretrievably broken."(full story at the Associated Press)(1-25-2013)

Not to mention they're both running for ROTY against eachother. Then, both win because they're dating and yeah....they should be happy for whoever wins it, right?

That would be awesome; on track domestic dispute. I am sure some brothers have gotten into to it before. BF/GF?

I don't see them making it to the end of the season, TBH, so whoever loses would be oober wicked POed.

I just hope she doesn't make him a poor driver...

I can't wait for Ricky to white knight his way to the garage of any driver who wrecks Danica, Tom Logano-style.

I also can't wait for Danica to meet Ricky's uncle Doug Garrison. One of the more incoherent people I've talked to online:

Quote:
As for my good friends ester & squirt and ol' coilbound too, let me just say, when I'm feeling down, I like to whistle. It makes the neighbor's dog run to the end of his chain and gag himself.

You boys should try to give a blow sometimes.
I'm sure Ricky hopes his uncle gives Danica that same advice.

Danica Stenhouse - although she'll probably keep the surname so she can keep peddling product. Ricky Stenhouse III. The media are going to be a nightmare.

It might become Ricky Patrick

More seriously... do you consider Mr Patrick (nee Stenhouse) as being cradle snatched... he is what 25, and she is what, 30?

I hope Ricky likes every story in the mainstream media about him starting with "....who is dating female Nascar racer Danica Patrick".

Danicafan must be on suicide watch.

And here I was thinking that the use of "Gen-6" (at a minimum, I'd call it Gen-8, but Teresa Earnhardt probably holds the rights to that one) would be the most annoying part of the Daytona 500 broadcast...

Oh well, I guess having cars back on the track will make up for things like "The Closer" or "The Biff" or "Big Mac." Surprised Mike Joy has never tried to call those who step out of line and lose the pack "draft dodgers."
