We would look at Eurocar V8 if one came to us and was prepared to fit Late Model bodywork to it.
We have no interest in the UK pick-up Series although we do have a model for our own pick-up series. The trouble with running (as a support formula) an SHP pickup or Eurocar for that matter is it will be dearer than running a V8. The CAMSO Lightning Rods is a fantastic formula and drivers there will gain all the experience they need for the European Late Model Series. |

Your then asking us to make an open V8 formula. Why not let the Dutch Rodeo cars in? Why not let the old Spedeworth V8 Hotrods in? No, the line has to be drawn somewhere and being as it is called Latemodels, I think letting a car in with generic bodywork is a bit silly. If the owner of a V8 Eurocar was serious about joining us, I am sure they could find a way to fit an ABC body to one.
And yes, I do. |

ASBF Car to Race in European Late Model series
I am pleased to announce I will be entering into the European Late Model Series.
I will run using the number #39 and be promoting the Ambulance Services Benevolent Fund, a charity that provides help and support to serving and retired members of the NHS Ambulance services when in need. ASBF press officer Stephen Evans “We are delighted that Paul has made this gesture to help raise the profile of the Ambulance Services Benevolent Fund, and look forward to seeing the car race” Following a recent test in Revolution’s #99 Car and Following the acquisition of the former #97 Ascar from Tony Hurdle (and new team mate) I will be running the as part of the Revolution Racing set up with all preparation and trackside support needed for the #39 Car. The first outing for the ASBF car will be the busy weekend of the 27th/ 28th June racing at Lydden Hill on the Saturday with a dash over to Warneton for the Sunday races. I would also like to take this opportunity thank everyone at Team Networking for all their help and support in 2008 |

Don't forget the series is at Lydden Hill this Saturday, Practice starts at 12:10 with the first of 3 races, taking place after a short break.
We should see 17 runners with, amonst others, Colin White making his debut in this years series. A manic saturday night dash will see us racing at Warneton on the Sunday. |

Had I not got a fun packed Saturday already organised, I was tempted to take a run down to Lydden just to say hello. Alas GG's and other issues have to be dealt with first.
Sunday is also fully booked, so no trotting over to Warneton either. I'll have to wait for the TV production to see what's what. Have yourselves a damn fine meeting, keep it on the island, and above all - party on dudes! |

I enjoyed it, cos I like that type of thing, but I thought it was rather disjointed and disappointing..... 2 races with some of the top contenders crashing out - in bizarre repeat fashion. The final was OK as Vasseur came through, but Vandermeersch was a little too battle-scarred to be competitive, Colin White hit problems and Gary Ellis didn`t even make the start. Ultimately I liked it, but I was left with the feeling that things would have been far more memorable if it hadn`t have been for the unfortunate happenings in the two heats. Maybe your proximity to the first turns antics made you think it was more exciting than it actually was! Oh, and I agree with the driver who said that the races were too short - they definately needed to be longer - about twice that length. Also, do the drivers get bothered by the dust that is ever-present on the first turn?? It always surprises me that when an event comes up which uses the oval, that that small section of track does not get cleaned-up the day before. I know there`s lots to do to get an event running, but just a pressure washer and a few broomers the night before would have had that sorted in half an hour wouldn`t it?? It surprises me that the drivers themselves never do anything about it, as many were probably there the night before I guess, and they are the ones that will be trying to drive it after all. |

probably as the rest of the meeting wasn't that amazing, turn one antics was pretty weird (cant blame the second one on oil?)... awesome job to get the cars ready for the second race... to do it again... |

After the second crash we cant fix the car ,so we went strait back to warneton
Back at the track at ten o clock put a new front on and a left front spindel, make it race ready .finisht at 2.30 midnight ,and won the final at sunday we think the problem in the to races was the gravel on the track no grip in the front in the short turn. Gary did his fastes laptime in that lap. Bud it was a busy but nice race weekend |

with fixing cars and trying to get to track there was little time to sweep the track! The marshalls done a great job sweeping it before the final. It was a good day, we found the gearing was to high in the 99 so changed the drop gears for the final and the car was like a rocket! I nearly finished second but two laps to go the fuel pump went! Lydden was great we need more races there! Good facilities there and sunshine too! Tractor.

I can't wait for more like Lydden it was awesome, then I got my jollies on 24 hours later in Belgium.
These cars just work there, the only shortcoming was the lack of pre event promo from the circuit. Two guys in particular did like that wall. TV schedule is here but I dunno which one is Lydden http://www.oasces.com/euro_media.htm |

Sorry about the dust/gravel on that bit of track. The tractor "swept" it, but to little effect, so before the final I asked the marshals to give it a really good sweep. They did a fine job as usual, in rather hot conditions. I thought the second heat was very good, particulalry the late pass for the win. When I asked Mr.Dujardin whether this was his tactics, he said "what tactics, it was maximum attack from the start." Top man.

Photos from the Late Models, and the rest of Saturdays Lydden races are now on RacePixels: http://www.racepixels.co.uk
I have added a link to the ELMS series on the "formula" search button as we intend to cover the remaining UK rounds as well as maybe a couple of the Warneton rounds. Regards Matt |

Don't forget, the series returns to the UK on the 15th August, at Foxhall stadium, Ipswich. It will be the first night outing for the series, with the evenings racing starting at 18:45 hrs. Should be fun
