Seems as though you can file the Panoz Delta Wing/EPP as confirmed for Sebring now, in the LMP1 category.

Part of me loves the DeltaWing news, and part of me hates it. It's a fun concept and something new to follow, but as many before me have pointed out, putting it in a class is just messy.

I'll take it, anyway. I'm glad the DW is out there and if it has to be something, I'd rather it be a P1 than a P2. Another dimension to Sebring this year.

Throwing a new engine together always makes me a bit nervous, but if they get the power and reliability they are talking about than this thing should go like the devil.

Right, but that's why it should be a P1. If you make it a P2, it will win every race by virtue of being alone, but assume there were conventional P2s against it. It would still have a real chance of beating the P2s for a class win. The problem? It was designed outside of the rules.

So the compromise is: it was designed outside of the rules, but it can run in a class...it just has to run in a class where it really needs to work some magic to compete. It gets to run, it gets to run classified, but it doesn't have to **** the other teams off as much.

Also, it is supposed to be more efficient, which can compensate for the pace.

On reliability alone, the DeltaWing, despite starting last, would have been second in the LMP1 class at Petit Le Mans as run. So...

Endurance-info also shows this pic on the ALMS Winter Test update. Clearly, a LMPC in Muscle Milk colors can be seen behind the HPD. Is this a pic from last year or a recent one?

Yeah, think they and the Lizards might be racing each other most of the time. But it's good to see a team coming back to the series especially in this last season.

If the same team/driver/tire combo on the Lotus was consistently 3-4 seconds up on GTC last year, what makes you think the Ferrari will be even slower?
