rychard has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I think Durban and A1GP had money issues ..... maybe A1 was looking for a reason to get out of Durban. Remember, the cars got impounded there at the first race!

Perhaps Durban wanted too much money or owed A1 some money..... so many questions?

According to the latest Malaysia team newsletter they are expecting the China round to be at Zhuhai, South African round to be Kyalami and the TBA to be in South America, which logic would suggest to be in Brazil somewhere.

Maybe they wont be as quick as the 80s F1 cars but I think they could well be quicker than the Champcar pole time, after all the EuroBOSS time was quicker 1 year after Champcar. Yes the A1 GP car doesent have the same power as EuroBOSS but it does have better tyres and areodynamics, not to mention drivers and teams.

A1GP looked like it was gaining alot of momentum recently but they ever since they released the schedule for the upcoming season it appears they have losed alot of it.

As A1GP perceive that their popularity is growing, so does their sanction fee. There has been a rumour that the price being asked for 2009 is too much for Brands Hatch's owners and that A1GP will go to Silverstone. Ties in nicely with their ego demanding minimum grade 1T circuits.

But that's all it is, a rumour.

if they charge fees they will feel it deep inside. the circuits they go are not slave to the dark beats and sooner or later they will start to reject to pay but after f1 british gp moved to donington i can believe in any thing.

Is the new car scheduled to do some altitude testing at Kyalami soon.

The old car tested at Kyalami well before the first race so I reckon the same will happen this time round.

Sounds like Autosport has heard the the same rumour. Not confirming it yet...but soon probably.
A1GP British round to Silverstone.
Given A1GP's attitude, a move suited to both sides.

NZL news-ish:

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/category/s...ectid=10521143
Quote:
All of last season's sponsors are back on board with some increasing their commitment to the cause.

"Sponsors including Fischer & Paykel have signed up for another three years," said team spokesman Bob McMurray.

"In these economic times it's hard to get sponsorship but in worldwide terms Fisher & Paykel feel it's quite good as they have plants in various parts of the world A1 goes to."

The New Zealand team hasn't decided on a driver line-up yet as many are committed to various series both in Europe and America.

"Jonny Reid is high on the list if not No 1 as is Chris van der Drift," said McMurray. Van der Drift is doing very well in his Formula Masters series, in fact he's leading the championship, which is not unlike driving an A1 car."
Good to see sponsors re-upping for the coming seasons.

Great news! I think NZ were the best team off track for the first two seasons although India has now also caught up.

And that NZL is staying, as that was pretty unsure untill now. I hope it also means that Supernova racing is staying and they can convince team Germany to stay aswell.

Today should see the public launch of the new A1 car at Mugello, with Italy also revealing their livery for the new season. I think it all kicks off just before lunch local time.

So Donington is A1T graded?
Or will the renovations be complete by then (May 09)
There must be plenty of money behind these new owners.

I can't see donington wanting to stage new events next year. From the local rumour mill the circuit will just be ticking over next year with minimal events

There's a possibility Valentino Rossi might race for Italy at some point this season, according to Autosport today.

That would give A1GP an enormous publicity boost. The world's sporting media would be all over it and it would propel the series into mainstream awareness.
