Bernard's the expert on places in T34.... But yes, B is the second row up as I was in A (front row) last year. I was stairs 12 and place 225, so I reckon you're pretty close to where I was seated last year....

I've told both the groom and the bride about my predicament, they suggested I buy one of those portable tvs to carry around- we all had a laugh about it, I'm still disappointed though.

But the groom is a really good friend of many years so I'll do this (once).

This ain't happening to me (whenever it happens)

That makes far more sense than trying to squeeze the operation into La Place du Jet d’Eau, there was never going to be enough spectator access. Would have been quite a 'mêlée'!

I fear I could either get very tired or far too fit on this trip......

The worst 'hill' I've ever walked up wasn't a hill at all. It was the steps from the lower part of Le Mans up to the old central part - anyone know them? I walked up them (2 years ago I think it was) after the Friday parade to get to our restaurant in the town square - it damn near killed me!! And I was probably fitter than than I am now!

Can't pinpoint exactly which steps you're referring to, there are several which have the ability to inflict pain. The climb I'm referring to is negotiated via a fairly challenging set of steps which lead up from the car park beside the river and emerge at the top of the hill (cliff is probably more accurate) about 50 metres from the Cathderal.

Don't worry mate, I'm embarassingly out of condition myself and will need several stops on the way up to turn around and admire the view.

If you use this Steps you curse each Cigarette .

The best Way is to follow the old Wall until the next Mainroad and then you go left under the Bridge .A little bit longer but more comfortable .

Joined this website yesterday and finding my way around. A small question - do you guys all congregate at a particular place/campsite during the 24hr race? I'll be there working but do have a few breaks and try and meet up with similar minded chaps when possible. My 'campsite' or 'residential' position is at the entrance to the airport.

There is also every chance that some will meet during the pits walkabout on Friday or at other places before, during and after the race. As a matter of interest, what is the 'working' you mention?

and sleep/rest in advance of the night shift for the others. We operate with a crew of four for this event in shifts of two at a time.

Fascinating! I suppose I was aware that something of this sort existed without being conscious of precisely what went on. I certainly didn't appreciate how sophisticated it wall is. You won't be aware yet that Aysedasi has a sort of, er, preoccupation with the weather at Le Mans. None of us is allowed to make mention of the wet stuff that sometimes falls from the skies! I hope you'll be in a position to give us a regular, up-to-date forecast as mid-June approaches.
